I would recommend Zanzibar Locke for any traveler who desires a hotel-like experience in the city center of Dublin close to the "movida" The common spaces and private spaces were all well maintained with great amenities. The room was spacious, while there were some small improvements needed, you still felt extremely comfortable. All staff encounters were good. Specifically during our stay Silvia, Jamila, Kirstie, and Mauro were exceptionally helpful and pleasant people to talk with. They had great recommendations and know their city very well. It was a pleasure to meet them. Overall the experience was great and would be a place we could return too.

Overall very aesthetic but pragmatic hotel with useful automatic or half automatic features in the room. Lovely staff, excellent short menu in Fawn restaurant and quiet rooms for weary travellers like us. No downsides, would definitely visit again. And yes, they offer gluten free and are aware of allergens - this was heightened by absence of carpet in the room: they have parquet!

    What an amazing place!

What an amazing place! The Martello tower is recreated with all the details (including the black panther Haines had dreamt about!). The staff really love their job and have the fantastic general knowledge, not only about Joyce. The view from the tower (on the ‘snotgreen sea’) is amazing. Sadly not the most attended tourist attraction (or maybe luckily?).

We visited for a special evening open house and enjoyed a fascinating brief tour. We learned very much about James Joyce, and about his great Nobel Prize winning work, Ulysses. We had fun too: some of us on the tour wore fancy dress hats that were on the hall rack in the front hall (these are used during the annual festival celebrating the writing of Ulysses, 'Bloom's Day'. It is in a lovely quiet Georgian neighborhood but just a block or two from a world of ethinic cuisine restaurants.
