They need to arrange a certificate for booking the foreigners guest . Today they don’t have it and booking.com should be inform this information in their site as well. Unfortunately, I booked this hotel and but I could not stay there as they said they cannot confirm my booking after they saw my passport. Anyway, I will manage another hotel to stay in the kolkata

Staff from the front door through to the wait staff and housekeeping staff were exceptionally friendly. Hotel is well maintained for it's size and age. Repair work was ongoing at the time but did not impact my stay.

We spent four nights at The Astor. The room was clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable and the hotel itself had a quaint historic charm. The usual range of breakfast options were fresh with well cooked eggs and excellent Masala tea. We ate heartily in the restaurant and enjoyed well made cocktails in the atmospheric upstairs open air bar Deck 88. The Lobby team were quietly efficient, convivial and very helpful. Recommended.

A great location on Park Street. Oxford Book Store is just across the street. Because the hotel is in the old residential complex slightly off the street, it is very quiet. The rooms are large and fully renovated.
