FinlandThe room was very big and comfortable, super nice room, not very common in Japan. The staff from the hotel is very nice amd helpful. We really liked the place.
The roads around are very nice if you like walking to the main temples and village.
Heading back to the hotel at night was easier to get a taxi, it takes 5 minutes to get to the hotel.

We had an amazing view on the mountains.
The staff is friendly, the location is also very close to the station.
Breakfast was very tasty and varied.

After staying in tokyo with small rooms, the size of this room felt very luxe. Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, the room has all bits and bobs you could need. The hotel is on a hill, takes about 20 minutes to walk down into town to tobu nikko. There isn't a picture of the second room (a bedroom with a queen sized comfy bed) on booking.com (negligence on the hotel's part) but I assure you there is one, and it's quite good. The space is old and a bit worn but charming and the staff is great. It's a hotel with a feeling of a hostel for older people as there is a lounge for watching TV where you can meet and chat with other visitors, and tables where they serve breakfast and dinner.
