    A traditional hotel, with very traditional rooms and food. Just a short stroll away is Yudanaka station where you can catch the bus to the snow monkeys. Well stocked Lawsons just near the station for snacks and drinks. Area had an authentic feel.

    1. Very good large ourdoor onsen with beautiful view. We were very lucky to experience onsen in the snow. 2. They provide working position for people with disabilities, which is very good. 3. Free shuttle service between hotel and Yudanaka station, also between hotel and snow monkey park which departs from 9:30AM. 4.Very large Japnese style room with private bathroom and a fridge. 5.Free wifi.

    The tenants are absolutely lovely. Akira gave us a lift from the Yudanaka station to the Ryokan, and was very attentive to every need we might have during our stay. The Ryokan is beautiful and cosy, especially with the kotatsu in the bedroom! There is two Onsen in the hotel, which you can book for a 40min time slot where you can shower and relax. The kaiseki breakfast was also very nice. Amazing !

    Comfortable rooms, excellent meals throughout our stay. There is a welcoming and comfortable coffee lounge open throughout the day. The hotel shuttle brought us to and fro Yudanaka Station without delays. The Snow Monkey Park is a nice one hour walk away by foot through quiet village roads. Otherwise, transport is provided by the hotel shuttle to the bus station for a 15 min ride to the park entrance. The staff were very helpful. The town of Obuse is a short train ride away to enjoy the Hokusai Museum.

    I cannot recommend this property highly enough. The accommodation is lovely, futon are incredibly comfortable, and the staff at the hotel will assist you with anything! They provided us with breakfast at no charge and personally drove us to the snow monkeys and the local ski field. Loveliest hosts of all our travels through Japan! The accommodation is also very handy - walking distance from Yudanaka station, convenience store and lots of restaurants. Highly recommend.

    Onsen experience was the best. Outdoor onsen during winter was superb. Indoor onsen was hot but feel good during winter. Room was big and facing the river. View from room was amazing when it’s snowing. There’s a burger cafe at the lobby. Burger was good. The staffs are amazing. 1 auntie + 2 uncles. Hotel picked up from Yudanaka station and drove us to Monket Forest.

    The hotel had a great view. Staff were very helpful. There is a free Shuttle service, Yudanaka Station pickup and drop off. Also, they will take you to the Snow Monkeys and pickup too. We had a breakfast and dinner package (Japanese style) with lots of fish dishes. Not a huge fan of fish!

    I booked at 3:30PM for the same evening and called to ask if I could still join dinner. I could and am very grateful! It was super delicious, with a endless variety of dishes. The hotel itself is very cosy, with comfortable, clean and spacious Japanese-style rooms (six or seven I believe), while having two onsen baths! The couple that own/run the hotel, are most friendly and fabulous cooks. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk down the road from Yudanaka Station in a quiet street.

    Hotel staff service was superb. We requested pickup at Yudanaka station due to large group and the hotel staff replied promptly and showed up on time. Only A few of them could speak good english. They were also very attentive and meticulous in explaining the use of slippers, hot bath facilities nearby. Shibu onsen is within walking distance but restaurants were limited and many not open for dinner during our stay on dec 8. On departure day, hotel staff also patiently showed us bus timetable and bus stop location to go to shiga kogen.

    We went on December with a lot of snow. We appreciate the shuttle service from the Yudanaka station because the hôtel is quite far from the station. Thé japanese room was really cosy and the food delicious. Nice onsen too
