    Absolutelu gorgeous.

    Absolutelu gorgeous. Buy the combined ticket, which also includes the Scriptorium (where you can become wise and rich, so great investment), the Main Gate (wonderful view of the Temple city), and the Museum. When you go down to the dark tunnel, stay calm and keep touching the wall with your right hand at hip height until you touch twice the sacred key which will bring you illumination.

    Even though I'm not a religious person, this sacred temple...

    Even though I'm not a religious person, this sacred temple made myself feel purified. Don't miss the short climb up the gate. Small steep stairs but worth it. Walk around the garden and other small temples on your way back to the station. Stop for snacks such as buckwheat noodles and oyaki dumplings.

    The hostel itself is a beautiful Japanese house, I really enjoyed staying here. It's super close to the Zenkoji temple, which is a convenient location to other sights / kombini nearby. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

    Good location, large car park, laundry and ice machine. We walked to Zenkoji Temple from the hotel. One of the dryers wasn't drying. They refunded my money and put an out of order sign on it and then checked that the next machine worked. Free drinks in the fridge a nice touch. The hotel has lots of restaurants close by as well as a Family Mart and a Lawsons.

    Best location we stayed at in a 2 week holiday in Japan. The other hotels we used were all conventional ones and we wanted to stay in at least on Ryokan and chose this one. The location is perfect, really close to Zenkoji Temple which is the most historic area in Nagano, with lots of really nice shops to explore. The room was perfect and we really enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfast

    Good sized room by Japanese standards, comfortable bed and great location right at the station. There are lots of delicious quick food options and a bar in the food court below the hotel. The Zenkoji Temple is within walking distance or a short bus ride away. Loved being able to access the station so easily to catch the Shinkansen Bullet train

    This is a clean and comfortable place to stay right near Nagano city train station . The eating options in the area are good and it is a pleasant walk to the Zenkoji temple from the hotel . I only stayed for one night but after over two weeks of straying in traditional Japanese guesthouses staying one night in a western style hotel with a Japanese breakfast included was highly satisfactory .

    Fantastic location, close to Nagano Station and shopping areas. A pleasant walk to Zenkoji temple. Quite a large room for Japanese standards, suitable size for a family of 4. Well appointed, full kitchen, decent sized fridge, microwave etc. Great shower and water pressure. A very quiet room with minimal road noise heard. A quiet complex of 5 apartments only.. Netflix provided.

    Extremely warm and helpful staff! We felt so welcomed by their generosity. This hostel is so clean and cute with a great atmosphere. Staying here was a perfect base of operations for our excursions to Jigukodani park and Zenkoji temple. We got great insider tips for sightseeing and dining (amazing soba and basashi recommendations!). It felt like we got an authentic taste of Japan!
