Everything felt very luxurious, the staff were so genuine and warm, the on site restaurants I tried were fantastic (especially the chinese one), the pool is awesome and my personal highlight was the excellently equipped gym - everything is brand new. Maintaining a property like this, right by the ocean, is a big task - I hope the team will manage because I'd love to return one day.

When we checked in we got upgraded to a suite and even though we only stayed 1 day, it was so wonderful! The kids had lots of space and even we enjoyed the amenities including the huge rub and breathtaking view from the bathroom!

The De Saram House is a beautiful architectural gem in the heart of a leafy neighborhood in central Colombo. I stay here whenever I am in town as it is comfortable with restrained elegance and always affable, kind and generous staff. Why stay in a bland hotel when you can be in a home of architectural significance and feel like you can escape from it all?! Strongly recommended not only for architects and design inclined but for those seeking a different kind of experience from all the hotels that are now pervasive in this fast changing city.

Super friendly and helpful staff who looked after us well on our brief two night stay. Good size room that with two large beds fitted our two young children and my wife and I easily. Made the effort at breakfast to amend what was on the menu to the children’s liking.

    This is a super convenient, well-maintained, well-staffed facility that I would highly recommend for staying in Colombo. Easy to access, walking distance to the dutch hospital and Galle face green, and lots of choices for services within the hotel. Easy everything, and well priced!

    Lovely historic hotel, in a beautiful location with ocean views, immediate access to ocean-side Galle Face Green for walking/exercise/people-watching. The buffet offered at breakfast was exceptional with especially great Sri Lankan and Indian offerings, and all the usual western fruit, pastries, egg station, etc. The rooms are spacious and renovated and lovely, the wooden hallway floors have the best slightly-squeeky, soft sound when you walk along, and the staircase is old-school wide. Such a charismatic hotel!

    The room was comfortable and in a good location, but lots of tauts in the area. You are in walking distance the Galle Face Green and Mall, the Pettah Market, and across the street from the Dutch Hospital. We did have our AC unit go out and the moved us to another room, they were quick and easy to work with,

    immaculate rooms modern and well designed -55 inch tv to complement my viewing pleasure . could have stayed in the rain shower all day or slept on the comfy bed also all day--all very nice indeed. location is quiet and at the same time excellent as many restaurants and Galle face green is in easy walking distance.
