Had a great two night stay here. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the inside area has a beautiful little garden where you sit for breakfast. There are only a few rooms, so it's also nice and quiet. The staff are super kind and helpful and they make a great Sri Lankan breakfast :) Final point - it's located in the middle of the historic part of Galle... so super convenient!

The Merchant is perfectly located - basically a five minute walk from any point in Galle Fort. The rooms are lovely, big and modern. The restaurant downstairs is one of the best in Galle, and one of the few places that is still lively past 9 pm. The breakfast was great too.

The family room is lovely. It’s spacious, it is quiet at night, the decor is really nice. The food is amazing- especially the french breakfast. The location could not be better. The staff were all lovely, the owners of course, but it was the housekeeper who stole our heart with how sweet she was with our baby. We will never stay anywhere else if we come back to the fort. If you are coming to Galle Fort, you will not be disappointed with your stay at Le Jardin du Fort.

    Lovely but quite a touristy trap.

    Lovely but quite a touristy trap. The exorbitantly priced food was what I was aghast about. About 5 to 10 times more expensive than most restaurants and eateries elsewhere in Sri Lanka. Also, most eateries were not as clean as in the rest of SL. The town is great to walk through but lack of fairly priced eateries with good food is a clear deterrant.
