Absolutely incredible experience - a quiet, nurturing, caring place just 5 minutes of the main road. We were treated like royalty by all staff of this amazing gem - Athreya Ashram. Everything you can imagine to be in a 5 star resort was here, but in a smaller, more personal way. Dr.Thilaxi recommended all the Ayurveda treatments we can benefit from. Super chef-cook Nuwan - made the best roti and curries and best spicy daal. We are sure to return and already miss our morning yoga practice and personalized local trips, arranged by Dr. and Fonseca. The Sri Lankan couple that operates the hotel are some of the most kind, generous, and helpful people I’ve met. The homemade meals are generously portioned and served with love. They helped me arrange tours to the nearby Minneriya National Park and also helped with scooter rental. When I had an accident with the scooter, they were attentive and understanding. But best of all, the value you get for your money is incredible. The hotel rooms are spacious, the pool is nice, and the location is just 20 minutes drive from all the tourist activities in the area.
