The location was spot on for our needs. The accommodation eclectic with the lodge being an ex nunnery. We were quite comfortable, beds good and showers had great pressure. Kym the manager was great booking restaurants for us and ensuring all our needs were met.

Lake Te Anau

The deep, indigo waters of Lake Te Anau are framed by lush virgin forest and snowy peaks. From the picturesque village, you can strike out on the walking path along the shore, taking in lovely views of the mountainous scenery along the way. For a different perspective, hire a kayak and explore the massive lake from water level.

Take a trip down Lake Te Anau aboard the Faith, a Yacht...

Take a trip down Lake Te Anau aboard the Faith, a Yacht built in the 1930's. It has been renovated but has the feel of years gone by. Originally built in Scotland and rumour has it that Churchill was known to have stepped aboard this vessel. Speak to Adam, the Owner, who knows its history and he can take you on a trip that you will never forget.

Try the sailing boat experience on the lake.

Try the sailing boat experience on the lake. Very knowledgeable captain who entertains with stories of the boat's extensive history, starting in the UK, getting to NZ and eventually to Lake Te Anau.

Visit the Bird Sanctuary. Costs nothing.

Visit the Bird Sanctuary. Costs nothing. They are a breeding centre relying on rescues who cannot return tom the wild. Whilst their young are rewilded once ready and fully fledged. They have Takahe, Kaka, parrakeats The Doubtful sound trip that leaves from Manapouri is well worth the trip.

The property is right close to Lake Te Anau. We had a unit with access to the garden, and it was great. It is located close to everything we needed in Te Anau, especially to Fat Duck - Best Restaurant in New Zealand for 2025.

Couldn't complain at all. The whole establishment was spotless and in a great location, quiet, but only a short walk to the main street and just metres from lake Te Anau. A little unusual to be in something more reminiscent of an English B&B with a common breakfast room, but great to have access to a full kitchen at other times of the day and the hosts made us feel at home, starting conversations with all the guests and providing great travel tips. Highly recommended.

The location was perfect. Very quiet with Lake Te Anau at the bottom of the road, but a very short drive or walk into the Centre. We were doing a Milford Sound tour and they picked us up at our door. Plenty of shops and eateries. Or, it was so well equipped; you can prepare your own meals. It is so much like an apartment - kitchen, dining, separate bedroom and bathroom; that you forget it is a motel. So much better than those one room places. Clean, new, spacious - absolutely fantastic.

The location was close to town yet away from the tourist hustle. The views are amazing and give the full perspective of Lake Te Anau. The host, Phil, is a very kind and interesting gentleman who gave us a warm welcome and advice about where to eat and local activities.

We had a cosy cabin for two nestled in amongst the Campervans. The room was nice and tidy. The Location was stunning being situated across the road from Lake Te Anau to watch the sunsets and a walk away to the town centre was very central. Also very much enjoyed a soak in the hot tub. We enjoyed our two nights here and got a taste of the Campervan Community. There seemed to be lots of activities for families to enjoy.

There is a living room with sofa and kitchen facilities as soon as you enter, and the bathroom has two doors, so you can go to the bathroom from the room, which is very convenient. The bed is very comfortable, and the hotel has a great view, opposite Lake Te Anau, and downstairs is a garden. There are chairs outside the room to sit, which is very nice! Parking is also very convenient, highly recommended!
