Almourol Castle
Plonked in the middle of the River Tagus, this dreamy castle appears unchanged from its 12th-century beginnings. Built on Roman foundations, its fortified walls guard tales of myth and legend – and are said to harbour the ghost of a lovesick princess. Regular ferries leave from Constância and Tancos to the island.

Being near Constância fluvial beach,Tancos' river boats to the Almourol Castle and from Tomar ( order of Christ Convent). The decoration and the unique furniture pieces that one can see throughout the entire place. The staff is very pleasant and we were treated with a delicious dessert for our anniversary and a drink by the pool.Guest review byH_2011Portugal
