We loved everything about our stay in Grand hotel Stary Smokovec. It was not our first time there, but it was the first time with our toddler and she had the absolute best time! The staff was super kind and helped us with everything we needed. They also made special arrangement regarding our room - extra bed for no fee and bathrobe and cute slippers for our little one. The hotel is simply beautiful and has great amenities - The spa and wellness is very clean, well organised and super pleasant. Children can play in huge kids room close to the bar so the parents can enjoy coffee, drinks and even food while watching their children having great time. The restaurant was awesome - tasty food and many many options for breakfast, lunch and amazing a la carte dinner. Even special request of our daughter for a glass of milk in the evening was fulfilled! The hotel staff is a team of great professionals. The fact that there is private parking right in front of the hotel and the location of this hotel being in the center of Stary Smokovec is obviously a huge +. You can choose from variety of rooms, we had a junior suite and it was very spacious and quiet with a view from one side on Lomnicky stit and from the other on the sunrise above Poprad. We will definitely come back again!

Very clean and big comfortable room. We liked breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, very tasty and variety dishes. Also we liked that there is a spa wellness with jacuzzi outside just with the mountains view, inside there is a swimming pool. As an addition on Fridays and Saturdays there are programmes for kids in swimming pool with dances, after 19:00 there is animation for kids in children zone with games and disco. Also the mountain resort is 5 minutes by car, Tatranska Lomnica

Definitely the best place during my holidays in the Slovak Tatras. Small but clean and warm rooms. Shared bathroom for 2 rooms. Beautiful view from the window. Small restaurant with delicious food and great service.

    We have a tradition to climb this peak from Lomnicke Sedlo...

    We have a tradition to climb this peak from Lomnicke Sedlo every year as an opener or final of our 1 week High Tatras adventure. It is very fun and short climb (takes up to 2 hours) from Lomnicke sedlo although requires some mountaineering skills when weather is bad. And you have a reward on top of Lomnicky Stit - a glass of hot tea/ coffee or a shot of strong Slovakian Tatra Cay or a pint of beer. Wonderful. Will come back next year for sure :)
