Galata Tower

Medieval Galata Tower pierces the clouds above Istanbul’s skyline, a soaring sentinel to the north of the Golden Horn. A replacement for a previous tower that was destroyed in the crusades, this one was built by the Genoese in 1348. or hundreds of years, it was the tallest building in Istanbul – and its uppermost balcony still offers unrivalled city views today.

    While the tower is great vantage point, overlooking the entire Golden Horn, the admission tickets are quite expensive and the place is crammed with crowds. If you decide to visit anyway, aim for the 30min before sunset

    Another joke which is not even Turkish, as most of the monuments. Anyway. 35 euros just to inside the tower. If you want to use the lift you’ll pay 60 euros to enter. Told you these guys are born thieves! Amazing.

    The place has amazing vibes with the cafes surrounding the tower and the cobbled streets and all but the crowd is just crazy. Everyone wants a pic there for whatever reason and they are a painful hindrance to enjoying the place

    It's good that they have installed a set of lifts to get to the top of the tower. So you are not walking up too many steps. Best to get there early or towards sunset to see spectacular views with the mosques and the sea across Istanbul.

    Definitely a must.

    Definitely a must. Go in the early evening as the night lights are awesome. Museum Pass is a must - this is one of the places you can visit with it. I bought a 5 day pass for 700 TL at Topkapi Palace.

    The location is excellent. You can get easily to Galata tower and then to the main street from Taksim square. You are also in front of the tram station that can take you to the other side of the Bosporus to Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. I had an excellent room on the 6th floor with a nice view. The hotel has a restaurant on the 8th floor which is a great choice for dinner. Higly recommended. Guests take breakfast in the same space, so this is a bonus. The staff at the hotel are very polite and they are always there to assist.

    Great place! You might pay a little more than other hotels, but the location makes up for it. You can walk to Galata Tower. It's close to many attractions. The street is alive even through the night. It's right next to the metro (lit. 1 min). The rooms are spacious and clean, and everything is new.

    Amazing view and location - Istiklal, Galata tower, local restaurants and metro station are nearby. We booked sea view room and had wonderful view on Bosphorus. I recommend rooftop restaurant with pretty good breakfast and Bosphorus view. I would like to thank personnel of of the hotel for the complimentary room upgrade and help with the luggage after check out. Room was clean, bed was comfortable.

    The hotel is a beautiful old world gem right near the Galata Tower and a fantastic shopping and eating area. The rooftop breakfast area was lovely and the food great fuel for the long days ahead Dinner is the restaurant was pleasant and the evening staff there were fun and very helpful. The housekeeping staff were friendly and hardworking even tidying our super messy room. Great water pressure for refreshing showers after long days on the streets of Istanbul.

    The apartment was clean and had everything you could need. The neighborhood is really nice and vibrant, close to the Galata tower Communication with Irfan was excellent, he was very réactive and helpful with everything we needed. We had a very nice stay in Istanbul !

    Absolutely yes! Istanbul is open restaurant. In every corner you can find perfect meal. Good to try fish restaurant in Bosphorous, or in Çiçek Pasajı. And also good to try restaurants in Maiden or Galata Tower with perfect city view. What it can be better than that!
