The staff, the room, the comfort the breakfast and the location are incredible. Breakfast was abundant to a point that we didn't need to have lunch. A quick walk to the Topkapi, Santa Sophia and the Blue Mosque as well as the Cisterna Basilica. The restaurant advice was excellent and even the tour info was really good. The staff is very polite and helpful and spoke good English which made things easy. They advised us on transportation issues and for shopping areas. I liked it all and sure would love to go back.

It is a beautiful place, very close to historical and touristic places, and the staff is very good and ready for all your requests. Especially Furkan and Muhammed helped us a lot, they gave us the transportation card free of charge so that you can use the metro and tram.

Very old and full of history it has had many different lives & purposes over the centuries. Some of the paintings on the walls are still visible & tell a story. Did a guided tour and it was definitely worth it.

Queues, Queues and more queues. But worth it. Do not bother with the AR experience which costs an extra 1250 TL (£25) each. The entrance is roughly £25 to get in if you buy it at the ticket office, make sure you ask for the basic tour otherwise they include the AR experience as a default. Amazing mosaics and beautiful architecture.

Sadly tourists can only go around the upper level. Previously you could get in on the ground floor and experience the wonderful open space of the huge dome above you. It is still possible to see some of the dome and the structure is very interesting but a slight disappointment. However , it is an amazing old structure. Small number of mosaics still visible. Better and more extensive mosaics at the Kariye Camii if mosaics are of interest.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul. Again ensure proper attire or you have to pay for covering. The interplay of Christianity and the Muslim faith, and neither chose to desicrate the other. Just be aware that you will only be able to visit the upper section unless you're a practising muslim.

Its a pity that such an UNESCO monument was turned into a Muslim Cami. And it is discrimination that all non Muslims cannot visit the whole area. As a Greek and orthodox I felt very sorry of the destructions of all the inside ( almost). This should be a museum open for all ,independent on their beliefs. Civilization is not looking into beliefs. Should be respected within centuries.

Oh, what a delight.

Oh, what a delight. I’m an open minded Christian so I appreciate such a wonderful and special place is still in place. You have to admitted if it wasn’t the Muslims it (probably) shared the fate of Acropolis. Is a wonder it does not crumble during times. Really. I was not able to take two straight pictures in a row, such a marvel of architecture is it, patch after patch. Is not the Pantheon, is not Basilica di San Pietro, but is still there. I also have to appreciate they respect the history and prior faith and do not cover part of the old (Christinas) paintings.

With a location in the old city behind Hagia Sophia and directly across from the basilica cistern there can be no more central site in Istanbul. However, being in the historic centre prevents taxis reaching the front door. But they have a plan for that and the hotel staff meet you at the taxi and carry your bags the short way to the door. The rooms, whilst small, have all you need and are clean and well presented. The breakfast is exceptional and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location. There’s plenty to see in short distance and it’s easy to walk to the main attractions like the Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern. The staff are absolutely fantastic and upon check in they saw it was my birthday and upgraded us to the best room with a whole floor to ourselves! Exceptional customer service, lovely hotel with everything you need. Thank you very much for an amazing birthday in Istanbul!

We had a wonderful stay at Magnaura Palace Hotel! The location is unbeatable — just a short walk from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapı Palace, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and cozy. The rooms are charming and comfortable; One of the highlights was the terrace view — watching over Istanbul’s historic skyline was magical. Located 10 minutes walk from the Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern and other famous sites this hotel is in a great location. The room was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. You don't need to walk far for shopping or eating either and the tram is just up the hill. We were very pleased with this hotel and would consider staying here again if we were to return to Istanbul.

Pros: * Location is perfect - walkable to Taksim, Eminonu, Karaköy, Hagia Sophia. Easy to get to from the airport via a short walk from Haliç station. Halkbank is round the corner for fee free ATM withdrawals. The apartment/hotel is in sort of a industrial supplies district which was fine by me (but just an fyi) * All of the guys at reception are very helpful and polite * We got upgraded for our stay, our apartment was a good size for two, nice enough bathroom.

Blue Mosque & Hagia Sofia are both jaw droppingly stunning inside. Avoid the huge tour group queues & go straight to the top of the line, else you'll wait for hours. I was in (in both places), in 10 minutes without being pushy.

Lots of people everywhere and fantastic food. Having the Turkish bath experience is not to be missed. Called a "Hamam", the recently renovated hamam between the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosk is second to none.

we gave in and got the 2 day hop on hop off big bus - as we kept getting lost. Everyone seems to go to the Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace early but we found after lunch a lot quieter. if I - no when I go again I will definitely get a 3 day pass so no queuing. Must do a Bosphorus cruise
