i know the country is struggling and that they also have to do what they can to reduce the hordes tramping through Topkapi, but you have to be on the level of the British Museum or the Louvre with a once-in-a-lifetime traveling exhibit to justify these kinds of prices. I'm very interested in Turkish history as well as an archaeology buff and it didn't merit the investment. i think they should cut the price in half, offer a steep discount for seniors, and cut off ticket sales at a certain volume each hour. Too expensive ticket, but if you enter, do eat before entering and grab with yourself a bigger bottled water. There is no place to get a water inside, one spot sells drinks at multiple times the normal price. The trip may last around 3 hours so eat well beforehand.
