What did I like? The exceptional helpfulness of the staff: Ali, Richard and everyone else who helped make my stay memorable and feel like I was at home. The coffee, food and breakfast choices were all excellent. Even if you don't stay here go in for a coffee, pastry or lunch. ZCH is often busy with tourists and even locals because the coffee is amongst the best and the pastries and wraps are delicious. The house dates back to the 19th century and was owned by Sir Tharia Thopan, a well known person on the island during that time. The architecture and ambiance of the house and how well it was restored only add to the over experience.

What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

The highlight of our stay was the island’s natural beauty. The food was also a major standout. Fresh seafood, flavorful local dishes, and a variety of international options were all beautifully prepared. Every meal felt like a celebration of the region’s rich culinary heritage. Bawe Island is a peaceful paradise that offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and natural beauty. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or just a quiet place to unwind, this island is a top choice. It truly exceeded all our expectations, and we can't wait to return!

We really enjoyed our stay in Mizingani hotel. This hotel is in perfect location with beautiful view to ocean. Pool is really beautiful and super clean. This hotel has best breakfast we had in Zanzibar. The best thing is the staff. Staff in this hotel are super friendly, always smiling, they are very professional and helpful. The guy from reception the night we came on 28/01 also the concierge guy (sorry I don’t remember the names) and all the staff from the breakfast thank you so much for your hospitality. You do a really great job!
