Times Square was everything I hoped for and more.
Times Square was everything I hoped for and more. Even at midnight, it was lit up like daytime. I loved that because it made me feel safe walking around. The massive billboards were mesmerizing, like something out of a movie. Everyone was just being their full, authentic selves, and the energy was so accepting. Even the people who stared were supportive. I randomly photobombed a cute guy and he actually loved it. And yes, I even danced by the red stairs with someone who looked a little down on their luck, and I honestly didn’t care. It was all part of the experience. Was excited to see this iconic place and it was as imagined! Loads of billboards always changing and the new year countdown clock. Busy, Beautiful at night time! We stayed at the Crown Plaza--right next to the subway! Perfect spot to reach almost anything you want to see in the city in just a few minutes ride. It is mostly shopping--gift shops and retail stores. Broadway is right there as well if you enjoy plays. Eat a good beakfast a Jr. Cheesecake! There were also a lot of nice free activities offered by the hostel (walking tours, parties, bar tours etc). There is also a laundry room with washing and drying machines that can be used for relatively cheap. The location is also nice.
