El Toucanet is a delightful small hotel in the mountains with rustic cottages and a spacious, beautiful restaurant overlooking a garden. Moises, at the desk, was a gracious and caring host, as was the kitchen staff. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Navigation is a must, as the hotel is about 30 minutes from the Pan American Hwy (Hwy 2) - absolutely worth the effort to get there. The sunny morning at breakfast with windows open and many species of hummingbirds feeding was most memorable.

The most amazing location! Be prepared for the thin air but totally worth the experience. The hosts were superb and couldn't do enough for us. The cabinas were clean and everything was spot on. They were beautifully situated for incredible views. Huge breakfasts and fresh trout for dinner.

Trogon Lodge is located 1.5 km from San Gerardo de Dota town centre and 9 km from Los Quetzales National Park. It features an extensive garden, a terrace and BBQ facilities.

The location is amazing, really lush green. Super clean property. Very good restaurant and bar (the best trout i had in my life). Greivin- the bird watching guy is very passionate about his work.

What an amazing place ! The best I've been for the all trip. The bedroom is comfortable and clean, nature is everywhere and the owners are soooo kind. They will cook you a dinner you won't forget ! Better than a restaurant I tell you 😉 And keep eyes open for hummingbirds.
