Absolutely everything about this place is amazing. My husband and I stayed for three nights and we had the best time. The views are phenomenal and the staff are attentive and welcoming and really make you feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble. Such a treat!

When we arrived and saw the sign "Backpacker Lodge", our expectations went down. But we got much more than we expected. There was a secured parking lot to park our rental car. The view to the beach and the bay is amazing. The stuff is very friendly. We had a family room with a big private bathroom and our own fridge. There is also a kitchen, a living room with TV and a winter garden where you can eat and get in friendly contact with other guests.

Abigel and her team (family) are superb hosts. Wholesome, generous, freshly prepared breakfast, nothing was too much trouble, even the 6h30am breakfast pack full of our favourite treats was delicious. Beautiful and convenient location, gorgeously designed and decorated rooms, we were spoiled and can't wait to be back.

Lodge is both quiet so you can enjoy tranquille nights and picturesque so you can relax by the pool. This place is a rare pearl! WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED OUR STAY!!!!

Magical place nestled underneath table mountain. Very close to so many tasty restaurants and loads of great hikes nearby. A special shout out to the two little dachshunds who played tennis with us on the most scenic tennis court. The breakfast and staff were 10/10. It was a brilliant stay. I would highly recommend to stay here if you are visiting Cape Town.

Blackheath lodge exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon, and we were so impressed by the staff and accommodation, that we ended up booking into their sister hotel in Franschoek because of our experience in Blackheath Lodge. We were greeted originally by Riano who was very welcoming and friendly, and he kindly sat with us and went through our plans for our time in Cape Town and helped us to create an itinerary of what we'd like to do while we were there. He was also very helpful at booking trips around Cape town if we wanted to do them. For the other days in the hotel, we had the pleasure of dealing with Mimi, Simon, Grace and Comfort, all of whom were so friendly and welcoming. Mimi helped us to plan some of our days and booked dinners for us and Simon gave us great recommendations for Hermanus. The service was exceptional, honestly felt like we were at a home from home. Our room was beautiful and clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious each morning. The location is ideal too - just a short walk from the sea front and you can safely walk along the sea to the V&A which is about a half hour walk from the hotel. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone wondering where to stay in Cape town for the first time.

Great hotel which is situated in wonderful place with a view on Table Mountain. The staff are absolutely friendly and help with all questions during the stay. Also they give good advice for travelling and made you day. Wonderful breakfast. In hotel you also can find drinks and snacks. The rooms are big, clean with a minimal country style and nice furniture.

The treetop cabins give you a glamping feeling. Loved the privacy on the deck and the outside shower. We enjoyed the ocean view for days and wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely a recommendation!
