Here’s a polished and engaging travel review for Banana Bank Lodge:
A True Gem of Hospitality and Community
My stay at Banana Bank Lodge was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine care. The staff couldn’t do enough for me—attentive, kind, and always ready to assist. Their dedication to guest satisfaction truly sets this place apart.
What makes Banana Bank Lodge extraordinary isn’t just its breathtaking surroundings or the comfort it offers, but the passion and heart that go into every aspect of it. The owner is a true gentleman, going above and beyond to share the incredible history of the lodge and the meaningful work he and his wife have dedicated themselves to. This is far more than just a lodge or farm; it’s a living testament to their deep-rooted commitment to the land, the people, and the culture.
Their philosophy is evident in every detail—from their respect for nature to their efforts in uplifting the local community. They don’t just run a business; they are actively making a positive impact wherever possible. It’s a shining example of how tourism can be a force for good, blending sustainability, hospitality, and cultural enrichment.
Thank you, Banana Bank Lodge, for an unforgettable experience. I left not just with wonderful memories but with deep admiration for what you stand for. If you’re looking for a stay that’s more than just a vacation—a place that truly touches the heart—this is it.
Highly recommended!

San Ignacio
With garden views, Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge is situated in San Ignacio and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and sun terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. I literally loved everything about Hidden Valley. From the spectacular surroundings to caring, friendly, and attentive staff, this spot completely exceeded my expectations. While we didn't partake in the outings, they could have planned any number of them for us. Einer and his team were also so helpful in getting some documentation copied, scanned, and emailed for us at no charge, which was a huge help. The food was very good, and the surroundings are just incredible! Cannot recommend Hidden Valley enough!

The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the on-site cooks made delicious meals every day for breakfast and dinner. The pool and hammocks made for an extremely relaxing experience. It was nice to just be outside of the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio. We stayed in the guacamaya lodge.
This property was nestled in the mountain Pine Ridge area, very accessible to tourist attractions, and what I liked about it was that it was an ecological lodge. It was so peaceful and beautiful.
Sweet songs jungle lodge is in the middle of the jungle and yet is classy and has all the amenities to make your stay a great one. We enjoyed floating on the river and relaxing at the pool. The food is excellent and wildlife is abundant. We have spotted tucans outside our room. We recommend to take a guided tour of the botanical gardens nearby.
We faced a few difficulties with communication because we were out of data in Belize and arrived very late to the resort. Still, we were greeted warmly and the lodge was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Nice bed, water, a small kitchen with the necessary appliances, and what was best, slightly secluded and surrounded by nature, so it was really nice for a long-awaited rest. The restaurant was nice, breakfast was good.
Since we are a family of 4 we booked a room with two double beds. The room was quite small and there was only room for two people to sit on the porch. Since renovation was being done to the room next to us and my husband complained about the noise we were upgraded to the garden cottage. I wasn’t too excited about the room but the garden cottage was fantastic for us as a family. The grounds of the resort are stunning and having the choice of swimming in the pool or tubing on the river was luxury. We loved the wildlife around the lodge.
Love how the lodges are spread out for more privacy.
This is a very nice property located outside of San Ignacio. It’s meant to be more of a remote, jungle experience in nice little individual lodges. It is only about a 10 minute taxi to the center of town. If you are looking to be in walking distance then better to stay in town, but if looking for a hideaway this was a very nice spot!
The property and lodges are beautiful, even better than the online pictures if that’s possible. There were so many positives about our experience including the comfortable beds, view of the sunrise from our room, privacy of the lodge but only 5 min drive to downtown, the sweetest puppies on the property, and the most welcoming hosts that ensured we had everything we could ever need. All of our tours (ATM and Tikal) were willing to pick us up from the lodge without charging any extra fees. Would highly recommend :)
Really helpful contact with staff and information provided beforehand. Amazing location and thoughtfully arranged property at a reasonable price. Everything provided that was needed in the property, including a nice shared pool, and near to Blancaneux and Gaia lodges which have good restaurants (not cheap) if you don’t want to self-cater all meals. (Note: Gaia prices are in USD and exclusive of taxes).
