Such a wonderful experience, it is family owned and they are so kind and helpful! My friend and I stayed for 2 nights, our room was at the very back in a big sized building with 4 or 5 seperate rooms. It was so nice to wake up and go to sleep listening to the sounds of the jungle.
You arrive by boat so keep in mind you are not close to town but, there is a restaurant at Casa Maya and the food is amazing, well priced and good portions! You can rent kayaks there for a really great price and the reason we choose to stay here is there are so many things to see and explore in the area. You have to kayak or boat but its such a convenient spot to see all there is to see and if you tell the owner what you are planning they will set it up for you/ get proper tour guide/ tell you how to get there and how far things are.
The lancha to and from Maya Casa is a bit pricey but that's just how it is, its the only means of transportation to and from Rio Dulce - Livingston and your gonna pay that anywhere you decide to stay in between those two places. It is worth paying especially if you are staying for 2 or more nights, just buy all you need before you leave town. There is a small convenience store 5 min kayak from Maya Casa and other restaurants too.
I was more than happy to stay here and support a family business :) very reasonably priced too!

Fantastic remote location, only accessible by boat. Very easy communication via WhatsApp to organize for a pick up. We stayed in what can best be described as charming jungle lodge, loved it! So much character. We also enjoyed our nature walk ... Breakfast/dinner place is very charming, lovely food and very good value for money. Helpful staff that speak English. We loved our stay. Would highly recommend it.

This was consistently the best food we had during our whole stay in Guatemala. The common lodge was so homey and inviting. We loved hearing the rain on our tin roof in our building. Bonus: The ferry to Livingston left directly from the Hotel pier. It was wonderful.

Beautiful place on the river. The port staff were really helpful in ringing the hotel and the boat came immediately. Staff were really helpful in hiring us a boat for a full day on the river and organised it all. The room was a great jungle lodge experience with extremely comfortable beds (best we've ever slept in) and very hot showers. Food was gorgeous from the restaurant and very reasonable. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Very welcoming for families. Great pontoon to swim off. Great library where we all restocked our reading material!

Everything! Cannot fault a thing. The lodge is beautiful. The service outstanding. The price is right for the area and location. We experienced the worst storm they had in 12 years. Rain, wind leaves and branches flying everywhere at the start of dinner service. The staff did a great job at keeping calm and functioning under pressure. They even cleaned in no time no had dinner served for everyone after the worst was over, I was more then impressed as this was going above and beyond

Great value for the money - beatiful hidden eco-lodge, where you feel chilled and relaxed and between young people, available swimming pool and lot of shade under the trees and houses. Friendly stuff, Room with mosquito netting, fan and few shelfs. Bar with snacks, drinks and breakfast available.

Beautiful and cosy wooden houses on the river with good restaurant and helpful owners. Their lancia transport to the hotel is very efficient - they pick you up on hour in public lancia port by the bridge. They have kayaks for rent and its close to row to the fort. Very nice place to enjoy the river!
