The hotel itself is very charming in an interesting location, heart of Nubian village, river front. The room was comfy and very clean, exactly like in the photos. We felt very relaxed and welcomed. The room was silent good sound isolation, we’ve stayed at the last room of the hotel corridor. The restaurant was excellent, big portions, great fresh local products, exquisite cuisine. It was the best kebab we had in Egypt. It has also beautiful views to the River. First, we came from Cairo with some stomach illness and the manager of the hotel Samir and all hotel staff did everything to make us felt better, he even went to a drugstore and bought us medicine and gave us as a gift. Thank you very Samir and Hamo, restaurant manager, your sympathy and attention made all the difference. Hamo also offered us local tea for all discomfort every day and it has helped a lot. Samir booked some transfers for us, they were all good and responsible drivers. Last, we had to leave the hotel early morning for a trip and they prepared us a breakfast box, with good variety and quality products, even boiled eggs. I don’t understand why other guests complain about it. Bottom line, I loved it and totally recommend.

the hotel is located on the quiet side of the island so you don't feel the smog and dust! the ferry between the island and the city runs every 10 minutes and costs about 0.2 USD (January 2025) there is a shop and a restaurant on the island but I recommend eating at the hotel because Mr. Omar is a great cook (the food is delicious and we didn't have any stomach problems even eating raw vegetables). Mr. Omar arranged all the trips for us (Abu simbel, Phile and transport from the airport and to Luxor) at unbeatable prices and without haggling. the contact with the host is great. he replies quickly on WhatsApp.

The host was amazingly friendly, even inviting us to his nieces engagement party while we were there and we got to experience some authentic Nubian food! The location is great, much quieter than staying on the east bank but also just a short and very cheap ferry ride over to the hustle and bustle. The room was nice and clean with a bathroom, ceiling fan, heaps of cupboard space, supplied towels and a really comfy bed. Would definitely reccomend!

Rewa and her family were so kind and welcoming. Airkela guest house is conveniently located just a few metres from the ferry pier on Elephantine Island. The room was spotlessly clean, with an amazing view over the Nile. Breakfast was superb. We would highly recommend. The staff were very friendly. We were offered cold hibiscus tea when we arrived. The room was cozy, clean, and tidy. Also seems so refreshing. Seid, the owner of home, was very kind, polite, and honest. He was there to help us with everything. He arranged a proper pick-up car for 6 pax and 6 luggage. When we wanted to buy a box of bottled water, he asked the driver to stop by a proper local supermarket for us to pay less. He also helped us to call the tour guide when I had a problem talking to the guide. I would definitely come back to Wanas Kato to have a private and personal vacation. Seid's house has the best sunset view in Aswan!

Habib is a very welcoming, helpful, and kind host, always available to solve any queries. He and his staff made us feel like at home, they went the extra mile to support us with the organization of visits and thanks to it we spent a great time in Aswan. On arrival, he let us choose from two different rooms, we were glad to have one connected to the terrace with a stunning view to the Nile river and the other bank of the city. The hotel has an excellent location, far from the noises of the city and about a ten minute walk from the tomb of nobles and to the public ferry dock. It is very easy and cheap to get there from the ferry boat west bank that is located five minutes from the Aswan railway station. The room was very cozy, it had a comfortable bed, modern AC and the water pressure was good.
