My room was compact, clean and comfortable but what really sets this property apart is the staff! It is rare to find a hostess like Bettina in the hospitality industry. I’m pretty tired of the neutral disintested service of the big hotels so this was a wonderful experience!

It was lovely and well decorated, all the little touches made the hut inviting and warm to stay in with the candles, the blankets even the little lights! The breakfast basket and even the bottle of bubbles to celebrate.

It was absolutely fantastically fitted out & attention to detail was outstanding . It was our 1st time in a Shepherds Hut & we loved it . The treasure hunt is a brilliant idea along with the fire pit & Arbour . It is a beautiful setting & we tried the cider also ( favourite was Apple/Rhubarb). The log burner was lovely & it’s a cosy way to spend a few days away from normality . Wish we could purchase a bottle of the apple/rhubarb cider . I honestly would give this place an award as being thoughtful & making us as welcome as we’ve ever felt .

Everything! It didn’t just feel like a holiday cottage - it felt like home. Beautifully decorated and designed, warm and cosy, fully equipped and gorgeous setting. And many lovely touches from the owners which made it extra special! 10/10 and will definitely stay again!

    Good sized comfortable room located in a courtyard behind the pub. Good food, excellent ale and friendly helpful staff. Located in the village centre next to the cottage which was the home of poet John Clare. Rural location, but just a short drive from the A1(M). On-site parking. Good place to stop when travelling from the South East to the North or for exploring the local attractions.

    breakfast and evening meal excellent. Lovely helpfull staff. great parking and presentation. Very helpfull recommending a place to eat, though the food there was not as good as that at the Bluebell. A lovely atmosphere.

    The Bluebell is a pub with an annex for the accommodation. The room was comfortable, with free wifi. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food in the evening was good as was the limited breakfast I had. Free parking on site.
