This is my second stay at The Bowman's. For me, it's good value for money, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff and within walking distance of where I need to be in Howden. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and an added bonus of toiletries in the bathroom, if needed. Although they don't serve breakfast, I found a great cafe / pub next to the Minster in the Market Square which served a delicious and varied breakfast menu.

If I could give the whole experience of staying at the Pig Inn more than five stars, I would! We were traveling down from Edinburgh and were going to be arriving late, so I called up to ask whether we might be able to eat at the restaurant. Eileen, (a gem of a person and member of staff - so much so, that my husband and I thought she owned the place!) said that, as the kitchen would be closing at 8.30pm, she could take our orders and the food would be waiting for us once we got there. She actually stayed on the phone with me and read out the whole menu for us to choose what we would like to eat! I couldn't believe it. The food was ready for us when we got there, and was absolutely delicious! Eileen made sure we were happy and comfortable and really couldn't do enough for us. She really made our stay so much more special and memorable. Thank you, Eileen! The premises themselves are immaculate and spotlessly clean and very very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property to stay at. I hope we return to the area because if we do, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be staying here. Bravo to all at the Pig Inn! A complete gem of a place.

Lovely accommodation decorated to a high standard. Hot tub is gorgeous. The area itself is very quiet but lovely walks around the place, and the local pub/restaurant is very nice and welcoming. Perfect for a relaxing break away.

    Although a limited choice the full English was great. Again, the evening menu was limited, but this meant that what they did they did very well. Location was excellent, loads of parking and staff could not have been more helpful.

    Last time we went we had a beautifully refurbished room. This time the room was badly in need of some redecorating and really needs 2 bedside lights. I would say definitely not a guest bedroom. Lots of free parking in a good position.
