The Old Post Office is in a great location in Lanchester with various places to eat close by. The facilities are excellent with great attention to detail including bathrobes, fresh milk and homemade biscuits. The room was spotlessly clean and Keith a very welcoming host. Breakfast was ordered the night before at a time of our choice which meant everything was freshly cooked. Great local ingredients and the most delicious bacon!

Erica and Jason were simply wonderful to deal with. Prior to our visit they gave us plenty of information on the property and the local area. Any questions we had were promptly answered. We arrived to a huge Welcome basket choc a block with grocery items. Totally unexpected and it made us feel very special. Erica and Jason obviously have a great deal of pride in what they have to offer and it shows. The house is impeccably clean and has everything needed for a seven day stay. Three spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and heaps of towels. Situated on a busy through road we did not notice any street noise and had great sleeps. Very professionally run and perfect for longer stays. Tow Law is perhaps a little isolated for some but access to Bishop Auckland, Durham and points north is easy and the local scenery is gob smacking. Thank you Erica and Jason for a wonderful stay.

A fantastic and relaxing stay at the cottage. Daryl could not have been more hospitable with very thoughtful extras (including homemade cheese scones!). A wonderful break in a luxury setting!

Jon was a great host. The rural setting and local pub were excellent. A reasonably easy journey by car into Durham and to the Living Museum in Beamish:a must see. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing more of County Durham.

olde world charm mixed with modern facilities but it was the people, both staff and customers, that made our stay memorable. Host Kerry demonstrated that nothing was too much trouble. Customers Joe, Davy and Graham provided interesting, and often hilarious, craic. A great range of beers in the bar and a sumptuous breakfast rounded off a great stay.

    Lovely staff who helped us book taxis into Lanchester. Great cooked breakfast. Right opposite a beautiful woodland walk which was planted on top of an old brick works. Free parking right outside.

    Room was fine it had everything that we wanted. 2 bottles of water provided plus a tea and coffee tray as well, extra supplies available you just had to ask. Breakfast was excellent and dinner was from an extensive menu and was extremely tasty and the portion size was great. Good free parking outside the pub

    Excellent location and Keith, the owner was very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast with local ingredients. Parking available around the back of the property but plenty of free on street parking at the front. Local small shops, takeaways (Indian, Chinese and Pizza), Italian restaurant and Pub within 200/300 yards of the property.

    Wonderful stay - owner very helpful and friendly and some fantastic additional touches like a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and fresh milk. Free parking right outside the property and very quiet at night. Excellent quality produce used at breakfast - overall an excellent quality B&B.

    Only stayed one night. Staff friendly and very helpful. Evening meal and breakfast excellent. Accomodation clean and comfortable. Street parking right outside the pub. Overall very reasonably priced and would definitely stay again.
