I sailed my yacht into this bay,and paddled my s.u.p onto their beach. This resort "sunmoon"is fantastic,small, friendly,clean, good food, and great home brew beer on tap. Really good spot to base yourself, to look around Abit,relax, and chill out. I've seen lots of spots with my boat,"SV Monkeyme' cruising around Indonesia,and I got this one marked on my chart to comeback to Thankyou Andre and seska.

1st stay after landing in Manado, heartwarming welcome, very thankful for that. Recommend this place for going to Tangkoko National Park. Renny was the first woman to guide in NP, Lea, her daughter, also guides. Both know the NP and they animals very well, are good guides and I liked the tours. Its located in a corner of the village, very near to the beach were you can take a swim. The local people from the village are also kind. The staff ist very kind and helpful. Lea took time to answer all my questions, organized a Sim Card and Money changing for me. She can also give you good advice for other activities, if you didn't plan every day of your trip in advance. She is also a divemaster. At the last day they organized a dinner at the beach, with very good food. They now re-open their cafe/bar at the beach, which was closed during covid. I really recommend you Renny's Tangkoko Safety Stop. Thank you again Lea, Renny and the whole team.

New Family Homestay was like a home away from home. June greeted you at the gate when the taxi dropped us off. She was so welcoming. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean offering superb value for money. June was very helpful with answering any questions we had, even so stupid ones. She organised our tour through Tangkoko reserve with much patience as my wife was indecisive in deciding whether to do the first night tour. The guide she organised, Yento was absolutely sensational. He spotted everything, even the smallest of creatures and was so accommodating in sharing his knowledge and helping taking photos when animals were at a distance. Upon leaving June offered her continued support while we were in Sulawesi by suggesting if we had any questions we could contact us and she would help. This is a great homestay and is exceptional value for many and within walking distance to the park. We loved our stay and if we ever return this is where we would stay again.

As a spontaneous decision I decided to book our trip to Tangkoko rather last minute. Which meant that I also had little time to arrange for transportation etc. Ardy arranged this all for me in the matter of perhaps two messages. Furthermore he and his father are both excellent guides and also very hospitable. The place itself is obviously not a 5 star hotel, but certainly the best looking place in the main street. The rooms are very new, very clean and very quiet. Also they are next to a little creek so it gives quite a serene feeling.

Right next to the national park. Cheap, simple food in the restaurant across the street. One evening we were invited to a birthday party and were able to try many local dishes. Very good tours in the national park. We did a "regular" morning and evening tour and additionaly a full day trip. We saw a lot of animals, to see the hornbills, monkeys and cuscus very nice I recommend to have two days of tours. The transfer from Bitung and to Tomohon works very well. On the way to Tomohon our driver stops at some beautiful birdwatching spots and shows us the Japanese Cave.

Staying at Tangkoko Macaca was a fantastic experience. The location is perfect, just minutes from the entrance of Tangkoko National Park – and we even had black macaques wandering into the garden a few times, which was magical to witness. The accommodation was comfortable and peaceful, providing a great base for exploring the park and relaxing between tours. A special highlight of our stay was our guide, Patrick. He was incredible – deeply passionate about nature, knowledgeable, and respectful of the environment and local culture. He didn’t just help us spot wildlife – he also gave us valuable insight into the local perspective and conservation efforts, which made the experience truly meaningful. Thanks to Patrick and the rich biodiversity of the park, we saw tarsiers, a blue tarantula, black macaques, and a hornbill – it was like stepping into a real-life nature documentary. If you're looking for a comfortable place close to nature, with a guide who genuinely cares, Tangkoko Macaca is the perfect choice. I left feeling inspired and grateful.
