Margaret was very welcoming and friendly. She shared her knowledge of the area which was helpful in trying to find our ancestors. The house was spic and span, our beds were comfortable and the showers had plenty of hot water! We had a quick breakfast of breads, toast, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Hillgrove House met our expectations and we would certainly return.

Andy is a fantastic host and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. He is a fantastic cook, the breakfasts were so lovely - particularly the salmon! The location is stunning and very peaceful, and within easy reach of Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon. The entire experience was excellent. The owner, Anthony and his wife, were very nice. Anthony cooked us a great breakfast and blessed us with good conversation and suggestions of things to do in the area. If we ever return to Ireland, we would stay there again.

The location was very handy for shops and restaurants-shops and pubs. The apartment was airy- clean and comfortable. A good bed and efficient shower. Wooden floors and venetian blinds at the windows gave the apartment a modern and pleasant feel. Some helpful additions of supplies in the cupboards. A good working iron and board and although I didn't use them-up to date washing machine & oven. Lots of comfortable and practical seating.

It’s so peaceful and calming, right on the lake. Micheal the owner checked on us now and then as we were 5 females aged 16-65 on our own we really appreciated that !Lovely kind man! It was large, clean and really well equiped. We were met by Hazel , she was so sweet and had the cottage heated and welcoming, even a nice welcome cake.
