a place with character! A huge old fishing factory refurbished to a hostel/cultural centre. You'll have to like the industrial look & feel, for us it was a prefect surprise. The village has quite a weird setting, by the sea in a flat valley, but within reach of many highlinghts of the South. it's simply beautiful.

The location is great, near an area where the lava flow met the sea. The property looks a bit discouraging from the outside, considering surroundings as well. Inside it is refurbished, all good. The room was very clean, nice, with good amenities. The commmunication with hosts was only via messages, one message received with a code and room number. Good that we did not require anything ! The price was very good, so some issues are acceptable.

The hotel is located in a beautiful, scenic area. We arrived late, but the letter and room key were waiting for us at the reception. The hotel has many cozy seating areas and good Wi-Fi. Outside, there is a sauna and hot tubs – it was a wonderful opportunity to relax. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

    Seaside location in historic village. Quiet. Private. Clean. Outdoor dried fresh linens. Pull down shade which partially reduced external light. Had all the basics. Some coffee provided. Nicely remodeled. Basement level bathroom tub was pretty and spa like. Plenty of hot water. Easy parking. Good location for sightseeing east of capital. Almost 2 hour drive to airport. Charming historic property. Outside patio and little table. Sea wall at rear of yard for evening walk with view. Owner available locally by telephone.

    There was everything that you needed: Private bathroom, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and kettle. The room was rather spacious for 2 people, and there is free parking right outside of the accommodation. Also, there is a communal laundry room with washing machines and dryer. Cups, bowls, plates, utensils are provided as well The place is only around 10 km from Selfoss, which is accessible with a rented car. The host was very friendly and nice, and made sure that our stay was comfortable and well-equipped.
