We loved everything about our stay, especially the beautiful nature and the lemon trees surrounding the property. Walking along the main path between the lemon trees, you’re treated to a lovely view of the sea on one side and Mount Etna on the other. Etna is just a 45–50 minute drive away, making it a convenient day trip by car. We stayed in a spacious one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor, which was very comfortable and well-equipped for self-catering both breakfast and dinner. We were traveling with our 4-year-old child, and he was thrilled to explore the beautiful grounds and garden.

Davide, his family and the staff at Palazzo Rosso treated my family as if we were part of their family. Everyone was extremely helpful and accomodating. The room was clean and spacious and the grounds had space for our son to run around and play. The food at the restaurant was exceptional every night. I especially enjoyed the fish as it was fresh and deliciously cooked. Davide also went off the menu to make pasta dishes for our son when he didn't feel like having fish for dinner.

The apartment is located in a nice part of Sicily and we had an overall pleasant stay, but there were a few important details that future guests should be aware of. Communication with the host was quite difficult, as they did not speak English, which led to some confusion. Entering the apartment was also a challenge – the door was extremely hard to open, and it often took all three of us trying together just to get it unlocked. Although the accommodation wasn’t cheap, one of the bedrooms was locked because it was said to be a "child’s room" – something we weren’t informed about beforehand. Since there were three of us, one person had to sleep on the couch. The bathroom could use some improvement as well – the shower didn’t have a proper showerhead, and the cabin itself was so small it was difficult to move inside. All in all, while the location and basic amenities were fine, a few improvements would make the stay much more comfortable.

It was the perfect place for us - a family of 4 - 2 adults & 2 children. Shalacory is a modern, clean & comfortable apartment. We really enjoyed having breakfast in the terrace every morning - so quiet & peaceful. Gresi (the host) is extremely helpful & always ready to answer any queries. She is lovely & so welcoming!     Secure parking is free. Staff are delightful. Ten rooms on the first floor and two on the ground, so never crowded. Spotlessly clean. Food was great. If you want to see Etna then this is certainly a place to consider.
