We asked a bilingual staff member to initiate the call for us. She did. During a 30 min call with AVIS, she stayed nearby us to assist if needed. Then when the repair van finally came, she stayed with us in the parking lot for 40 minutes to act as translator. She went above and beyond her job. The hotel accommodations were basic, but they offered any additional services or items in the front which you could easily take with you up to your room. I appreciate this method as it reduces waste per room. The breakfast was EXCELLENT and I felt safe parking my bicycle. We are cycling at Shimanami-Kaidou, the hotel is a good starting point. Hotel lobby inside has bike parking facilities. Receptionists are friendly and helpful. Onsen is big and clean. You can store your bike in the parking lot below. The breakfast is 1000 Yen and is plentiful. Very good breakfast in a large banquet hall, wide variety and all good quality. Room was incredibly large and clean, with beautiful view of the city and the sea from the higher floors. Very convenient large parking lot right outside.
