The staff were friendly and welcoming. They gave a helpful tour of the place on arrival. The common space was clean and had lots of books to read or couches to relax on. The dormitory had lots of room with good curtains for your bed for privacy.

Our experience ar Ryokan Asunaro was exquisite. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted kindly and helped with our bags. Everything was explained clearly and we even got to choose our own kimono’s to wear inside the Ryokan during our stay! The room was spacious, very clean and nice and warm. The tatami beds were very comfortable to our surprise (first experience with them) and we enjoyed the onsens as well (seperate for men and women). The Ryokan itself was so cosy, it felt like walking into a home. When checking out, we were also helped with shipping our bags to our final destination, which helped a lot. Highly recommend Ryokan Asunaro!

It's really hard to express how superb this stay was. And it was only 1 day. I imagine this is thanks to type of the place, not being typical hotel, but rather traditional ryokan with it's quality. From the beginning, the staff was excellent. Helpful, informative, easy to talk to. The room, comparing to our other hotels, was huge. Sleeping on futon was our best sleeping experience during whole stay in Japan. We have booked private bath, and again - everything well prepared, all important things available in the room. We were provided also with yukatas to be used in ryokan, but in addition we could also use more colorful that could be used outside. Hotel is 5 minutes walk from main station and on the way to old town of Takayama. The last but not least - breakfast was the best we had in Japan. We have chosen Japanese one and we could try many elements.

Beautiful place with amazing hot springs (for private use). Perfect for a relaxing stay, rooms were very comfortable and service was excellent! Tao (hope I’m spelling that right) was very sweet and attentive. We also had dinner and breakfast and food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this place! 👍

    Hotel is quiet new. Location is just perfect 2 mins walk from the train station and not more than 15 mins walk to all attractions. Car parking is very convenient with the fantastic story-parking system. Room is spacious according to Japanese standard, bed is very comfortable since it is not too soft, breakfast is just right not much not less but delicious. Check out time is 11.00 a.m., don't need to be hurry.

    within 10 min drive from Shinhotaka Ropeway. outdoor onsen was good. spacious room. simple Japanese style breakfast. free parking on-site, but may be limited (the parking lot opposite the main entrance could accomodate about 5 cars, and I am not sure if there are additional parking lot available once this is exhausted)

    The house is clean and the futon is very conformtable. Cooking utensils and seasoning are provided. The host was talkative and could communicate in Chinese. He recommended us to a shop which sold Hidagyu in a reasonable price. We enjoyed our dinner in the house so much! About 10 mins walk to the morning market and the old town area. Free parking lot nearby is available.

    Free parking, there are a lot of parking lot. Free Public indoor and outdoor Onsen. Hotel will offer Yukata( Traditional Japanese Bathing costume) to guests and you can choose from different pattern. I can see guests wearing Yukata are super excited.
