What a pleasant Staff at the Noren Yado Meigetsu Ryokan in the small mountain town of Tsuwano. The rooms are large for Japanese standards, properly cooled (if wanted) and have all facilities required. It has a very comfortable public bath, that can be used privately . The breakfast is one of the best I have ever had in Japan. A true Ryokan experience in the mountains.

MASCOS Hotel Masuda Onsen is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are lovely and welcoming, and the whole hotel feels clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The rooms are quite small, but very comfortable. Also, since it's the cheapest place in Masuda, it's the best place to stay if you're on a budget. The complimentary breakfast is great and the staff is wonderful. I accidentally overslept past the check-out time and the staff were very kind about it. Even though the bathrooms are shared, they are very clean and well-kept. There is also a bowling alley, karaoke, and a movie theater in the same building. Only about a 10 minute walk from Masuda Station. I highly recommend staying here.
