We were traveling around Issyk-Kul Lake with our three young children, searching for a quiet and beautiful place to stay. When I came across Taberik, I was initially hesitant — the place had no reviews, and traveling with kids, comfort is our top priority. But the location looked so stunning that I decided to take a chance. And I’m so glad I did — Taberik exceeded all our expectations. We were warmly greeted by Meyrambek, the owner, who welcomed us with tea and cookies and shared that they had just opened for their very first season. The entire place is brand new and built with great attention to detail. The setting is breathtaking: nestled at the foot of a mountain, surrounded by untouched nature, with yurts and cozy cabins scattered across the land. The cabins have heating, hot water, and high-speed internet via Starlink, which was a pleasant surprise given the remote location. The interiors are thoughtfully designed — wooden furniture, natural materials, spotless cleanliness, and a cozy atmosphere. You can immediately feel that a lot of care, resources, and investment went into creating this place. We passed by several other guesthouses along the way, and honestly, none of them came close to Taberik. It’s truly a different level of comfort and beauty. There’s also a stunning waterfall nearby, adding to the magic of the place. This location touched my heart so deeply that I couldn’t resist writing this review — and I don’t do that often. Only a rating of 10 is unfortunate possible. It desires more. Our stay after a long hike was just amazing and exactly what we were looking forward to, when we booked it a 4 weeks in advance. It is located close to the woods a bit outside of the village, but still all in wakable distance. You will have a good view to a couple of hills of the seven bulls from the platform and from bed. The place is silent and you will not have any other possibility then to consume the spirit. Everything of the construction or interior is well conceived. There are so many details in the Yurt to explore and would not have had expect it compared to many other accomodations we've stayed in a 4 weeks travelling. The cleanness was remarkable as well as the heartly welcome at the family. English being not an issue at all. Thank you for making our stay memorable. We judged it to be the best one during our overall journey.

Everything was great – the hosts were very kind, the location is perfect, close to the airport, and the breakfast was very good. Highly recommended!

A very helpful couple runs this place. Askar took us in his vintage Lada to the red bulls and the valley beyond this and was very relaxed about time. The next day he took us to the border with Kazachstan all at a reasonable price. The room itself is new and the bed is comfortable. Everything is clean and it is located in a quiet street.

The room was comfortable for us during our stay in Karakol. It’s located at the back of Zhazibek’s house near the centre of town. He is very kind and welcoming host - helped to organise transport and activities! Looking forward to seeing him again one day :)

Soonum Hostel is more like a homestay. The host family is incredibly kind and hospital. The mother often invites the guests to pancake and snacks. I felt so at home there I never wanted to leave. The beds are comfy, the amenities great and there is a proper kitchen and fridge. They have the most adorable baby, Serdar who is a delight to play with and super friendly.

Everything was as I expected! Beautiful and cozy house, with a nice owner. She tried her best to help me with anything. Close to the city center, buses and markets.

Staff was surprised me, he is a boy who is very smart and good speak English, and very helpful 😀
