A beautiful place situated 2 minutes from the beach. Really well presented, extra touches to make everything appear special with flowers on the bed and on dining table. Beaches and pool towels are also provided which is very handy. We and an evening meal which was very tasty and plentiful. Yes indeed the area has more mosquitoes than perhaps others but the hotel takes many steps to alleviate the nuisance. We didn’t find the railway a bother at all. All in all a great place and happy to recommend.

The beauty of the place was only equalled by the incredible and profound kindness of the hosts, who went above and beyond to make every single thing perfect (from our arrival at the station to the surprise juices and welcome meal, train bookings, visits & tour advice in the room and spotless cleanliness all over…). A brother and sister so hard working, attentive and sweet we will remember them fondly! The villa is absolutely gorgeous: spacious, so clean, amazing pool exposed in the sun… We had bikes that helped us go around wherever and whenever we wanted - greatly appreciated! The room/apartment itself is incredible. Bedroom with comfortable bed, intimate terrasse in the garden to have meals and drinks at, loads of space, beautiful bathroom, kitchen to allow us to make our own foods, wardrobe… The way to the beach is so lovely and wild, we greatly appreciated our walks/bike rides to get there every day.

I had a wonderful stay at this private luxury cottage near Galle. Surrounded by nature, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. The cottage was exceptionally clean, with comfortable linens and all the necessary amenities, including tea, coffee, hot water, and toiletries—all provided free of charge. The complimentary WiFi covered the entire cottage, ensuring a seamless connection. One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, served in a peaceful setting with the soothing sounds of birds and stunning nature views. Additionally, the nearby village offers unique experiences like cinnamon peeling, hiking, and birdwatching. I loved everything about Halketha. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality from Chitra, Mary and Nelumi. We were taken to our villa across a beautiful landscaped garden that also stays true to its love for the natural environment. The villa itself was perfection - perfectly decorated, clean, homely but also provided you with a sense that you were in luxury. The outdoor bathroom was a cherry on top, with a beautiful araliya tree in the middle. During our stay, we were not only treated close to family, but the quality of service was nothing like I had seen in Sri Lanka for a long time. The food was authentically Sri Lankan, with a rich yet classic taste. The property is close to mini waterfalls and great walks. This is a stay I will keep coming back to. A reminder that authentic and wholesome experiences still exist in Sri Lanka.

I had an absolutely delightful stay at Sakuna Arana Resort. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff who made every effort to ensure my comfort throughout my stay. The lush garden and surroundings created a peaceful atmosphere, making it the ideal place to relax. One of the highlights was the delicious food served at the resort. The meals were freshly prepared with a variety of local dishes. The location is also excellent, only 2km distance from the beautiful Kosgoda beach and the famous turtle conservation project. The resort staff were happy to help organize excursions and provide tips for exploring the area. The pool was clean and inviting, perfect for a refreshing swim after a day of sightseeing. I recommend Sakuna Arana Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with a top service. I will definitely return on my next visit to Sri Lanka.
