Absolutely stunning location on the upper slopes of a valley in the rainforest with a wide expansive view. The most beautiful infinity pool looking over the trees with birdlife. Very kind team running the operation who are happy to help with anything. Food was great, especially in such a remote location. Incredible value for money. A short (complementary) tuk tuk ride to the entrance of Sinharaja Forest park.

This small lodge is a great base for bird and nature lovers. It is about 2km from the entrance of the world famous Singaraja Rain Forrest. You can even see the endemic famous Sri Lanka Blue Magpie in the early morning on the hotel grounds. We enjoyed the food. The owner can arrange a guide for the birding tour. We loved the tour with the guide.

Our stay at the Rainforest Nest was amazing. The hosts are the kindest persons, and always smiling. Saman is a great guide, thanks to him we saw a lot of endemic animals! We definitely recommend going on a rainforest tour with him. His wife is an awesome cook. We loved their food and the couple was very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay at Sinharaja Vini Villa. The location is beautiful next to the river and close to Sinharaja Forrest reserve. It's so peaceful, nice place to relax. The hosts are such a lovely family, very welcoming. All the family are involved in running the homestay. We also had dinner there, the portions are generous, and also beautiful fresh fruit juices. To walk in Sinharaja forest you need a guide as paths are not clearly marked, our host arranged a guide for the day hike, and was very kind as we arrived back late (we took ages with taking photos) and we were able to shower and freshen up, and had complimentary fruit juice before our onward journey. Our shoes got really muddy, and our host kindly washed them, and dried them for us. Also the accommodation can arrange you transport with good safe drivers. Would certainly recommend staying there, especially if you love a quiet time, nature and Forrest.

The stay was super nice because the room/cabin I had felt like my own apartment and it was perfect to be so close to nature and do the day trips to Sinharaja forest (which the host organized for me) and everything was cared for like a lunch pack and super delicious dinner on request- and great food every morning anyways:)) all of the people working at Sinharaja rest were so kind and helpful! Unrelated to the host, just about the experience in the immediate area: The area around is like a village, then town with paddy fields and everyday life happening, no jungle, that’s only when you enter the Sinharaja reserve with a guide. But that’s the case for all stays in that area.
