The guest house is located in a calm area slightly sideways from the beach. It is extremely clean and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. Mosquito net was sufficient. The hosts are extremely helpful and sincere. We arrived late as we had a small car accident. Late check-in was not a problem and the hosts helped us to arrange a mechanic (even though it was a national holiday). In the morning, I asked for an iron and the host ironed my clothes free of any change, just of genuine kindness. We will not search for other places if we ever come back!

From the moment we arrived at Suman Beach Rooms, we felt like special guests in a family home. Located just a 3‑minute stroll from the serene Nilaveli Beach, this cozy B&B is in a perfect spot for easy beach days and exploring nearby attractions like Pigeon Island National Park and the Kanniya Hot Springs . Our room was spacious – with a private bathroom, balcony overlooking the garden, crisp AC, reliable Wi‑Fi, and great comfort overall . It quickly became our peaceful little haven after a day in the sun. But what truly set this place apart was the warmth of the hosts—Suman, Mallika, and their family. They greeted us even during our early arrival, having our room already prepared . Mallika’s home‑cooked Sri Lankan breakfast on the terrace was a daily treat—delicious, generous, and served with heartfelt kindness . The atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming—complete with friendly cats, chickens wandering through the garden, and a homely ambience that truly made us feel “at home” . They went above and beyond by helping arrange tuk‑tuks, and transfers, you name it—with helpful, local insider knowledge . In short: Location: 2–3 minute walk to the beach, with easy access to local attractions Accommodation: Clean, comfortable rooms with AC, private bathroom, balcony/garden view Hosts: Exceptionally friendly, considerate, and accommodating Extras: Tasty breakfasts, reliable Wi‑Fi, bike/tuk‑tuk tours, laundry, on‑site parking We wholeheartedly recommend Suman Beach Rooms if you're after a genuine, comfortable, and caring place to stay in Nilaveli. Absolutely loved our stay here. An idyllic setting right on the beach, with the softest sand and clear blue water. The staff made our stay, all so friendly and welcoming, especially the owner Mandy. She welcomes you with open arms and makes you feel right at home, she can't do enough for you! Food is also amazing and home cooked - we ate all of our meals here over the 3 days. Highly recommend a stay!

this is an ideal place for privacy and relaxation. There are only birds and lizards around and not a single person. The staff is great! Caring, polite, surrounds with attention and warmth. Very kind and open people. The hotel itself is cute and incredibly authentic, well-kept grounds, cute houses. There is everything you need for a holiday. Very tasty food and great selection of dishes. Incredibly delicious seafood and cool barbecue on the beach. Beautiful and cozy right on the ocean shore.
