Everything! Place was spotless, comfortable, modern and thoughtfully prepared with all the details that made our stay extra enjoyable and memorable. This accommodation was fab. The host Violeta was extremely nice, helpful, informative, very generous and welcoming. She had so many nice touches and thoughtful additions in the property. The house is very well located near the old Whitestone town, pier and right at the top of the road for the penguins.

My daughter & I decided to stay overnight at Oamaru before continuing our road trip to Christchurch. We got the ground floor 2-bedrooms unit of this restored heritage building. The parking is just outside the main door, so convenient for us. There was another unit upstairs via the staircase at the side The place is a treasure! It looks like a remnant of time past by yet the interior is stunningly decorated (those amazing chandeliers for central lighting) & furniture feels so richly luxurious. I love the unit layout & each bedroom is ensuite. The kitchen has everything you need for simple cooking. After days of travelling, we needed laundry facility. The shared laundry is locked, just steps away behind the building. We called Katrina to get the access code & she promptly picked up the call. Both washing machine & dryer were easy to use. Cool! Bathrooms are spotlessly clean. Rooms have heaters that we appreciated as we were still not used to the cold'ish summer weather..

We had the perfect stay in Oamaru thanks to Oamaru Green Cottage - beautiful ,cozy little cottage on a hill with a gorgeous view of Oamaru Harbor, kids toys in a corner of the cottage that we turned into a play area, and the home decor made the space both feel homey and artistic.     my plans meant I only stayed one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. Really unique hotel, lovely owners and staff, and great location (I had a penguin watch booked which was easily drivable and even walkable). Breakfast is help yourself, you can make toast, there’s an array of fruit, yogurt, cereal too. Parking is available on street on in the supermarket car park out the back. Street parking is free after 5pm.

    Roger had thought of everything in the rooms. Heater, blankets anything you needed and more were there. Loved the cozy feel of the house. The sun room is fantastic to see the sunrise in and to have breakfast in. This is just for the car park on the property. If you generally struggle with parking in and out of slightly tight space, I would suggest parking on the street. It's 4 feet away from the house, no biggie. We alternated between in and out depending on the time of day we got in.
