Richard was extremely friendly and treated me as family from the outset, offering fresh fruit from the surrounding forest The shower is hot with good pressure, the kitchen has many facilities also.

Mario was great! He cooked a great pizza, burgers and also prepared an amazing breakfast! The lodge rooms were very clean, spacious and each had amazing views of Gocta waterfall. The trailhead to Gocta waterfall was located immediately outside the Casa de Mario door. Mario was instrumental in locating excellent drivers and an English speaking guide! La Casa de Mario enhanced our Chachapoyas experience!

Central location in main village square. Amazing view of Gocta waterfall from bedroom window. Nice breakfast. Attentive staff. Owner drove us to 4 1/2 hours to Santa elana nature reserve for a very reasonable price and comfortable ride. Highly recommend.
