Staying at Hotel Amanda felt like stepping into a scene from One Thousand and One Nights. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away into a world of elegance, charm, and quiet luxury. The architecture and decor whispered stories of distant lands and ancient beauty, with every corner more enchanting than the last. Our room — or should I say palace suite — was larger than the average home in Amsterdam, with soaring ceilings, rich fabrics, and soft lighting that made the entire space feel like a private fairytale. The pool was a sparkling oasis, especially in the golden glow of the afternoon sun. We spent hours there, floating under the sky and forgetting the outside world. The breakfast each morning was a royal feast, with fresh fruits, pastries, and local delicacies presented with care and warmth. But what truly sets Hotel Amanda apart is the service. Every staff member treated us not as guests, but as honored friends. Thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely kind — it’s rare to feel so seen and so welcome. This is my favourite place I've stayed so far in Taiwan, the design of the place is really cool. The owner has really paid a lot of attention to make it a comfortable stay. And if you ask nicely, she will give you some great food recommendations.

Loft meaning living room is on the first floor and the bed on the second floor. Ample space. Decentralized aircon units per room. Service was excellent. Requests such as extra pillows, water etc were met quickly.

One of the best hostels in Taiwan. All the staff are kind, friendly, and laid-back. The host J shared a bunch of local recommendations with me, and I enjoyed our morning chats at the coffee shop :) They also run a bar in the same building, and even as a solo traveller, I felt comfortable spending time there because the bartenders were warm and welcoming. And of course their original cocktails were great too! My fav was 貴妃挽茶 (Imperial Concubine Yang).
