Barrie and his staff offer the best service I have ever received in my life. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Each villa has its own private living and sleeping space with a private pool and outdoor dining area where you can request breakfast or dinner to be served. Barrie was also able to sort out all requests for safaris, trips, transfers etc. The food is absolutely incredible with a huge choice for breakfast and different multi-course dinner menu each night inspired by Barrie’s travels. Barrie’s team catered to our dietary requirements (vegetarian and pescatarian) and the food and service were like fine dining but with very generous portions!

We had an 8 hour drive to get to tanemera lodge.Russel and Janice kept checking in to make sure we are safe on the road. We arrived well after supper time but the kitchen staff still waited for us and prepared our supper the moment we arrived. The following day, we were treated with a lovely breakfast and great views of the sabie River below. They made sure our food was in the room for supper after we said we would arrive late again the saturday afternoon Everything about the service and hospitality was amazing

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the staff, especially Mariana, who went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Her attention to detail and genuine care made us feel truly welcomed and pampered throughout our time at the resort. The amenities at Summerfields Retreat and Spa are top-notch. Our room was beautifully appointed, with luxurious furnishings and breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. We enjoyed relaxing in the spa, indulging in decadent treatments that left us feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible food. Each meal was a culinary delight, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients prepared to perfection. We looked forward to dining at the restaurant every day, eager to sample the delicious creations of the talented chefs. But perhaps what stole our hearts the most was the adorable in-house cat Whiskas who became our unexpected companion during our stay. We formed a special bond with him and were sad to leave without saying goodbye, assuming he was busy with his cat activities. We hope he is doing well and look forward to visiting again someday, perhaps to see him grown into a regal feline. Overall, our experience at Summerfields Retreat and Spa was nothing short of magical. It's a place where every detail is thoughtfully curated to ensure the utmost comfort and enjoyment of guests. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. We cannot wait to return to this little slice of paradise. Stayed here for our last three nights of our honeymoon to South Africa. We taught all the other hotels that we stayed in during our honeymoon were off a very high standard, but the Highgrove easily topped them all. Everything about the hotel was exceptional, the meals were some of the best food I have ever had. Staff were very friendly and could do no more for you. The property itself is set in what could only be described as a bit of heaven on earth.
