Basic but decent breakfast (I ask it to serve at 6am before the hiking Fogo, and it was there exactly at time). It was clean, with nicely arranged furnishings. The rooms were nicely arranged around a small pool and courtyard area. The staff were friendly, helpful and always cheerful. The location was very nice, we ate at very good restaurants that were just minutes walk from the hotel. They packed a wonderful to go breakfast for our early morning flight. We would highly recommend The hotel Savana for your Sao Filipe stay.

TCHAN LOVe is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Portela, where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The rooms include a balcony with views of the mountain. The location is perfect. Right at the start for the hike to Fogo. The location in booking is (as of today) not correct, its right in the center of the village. But the owners are superfriendly and can send you the details via WhatsApp. I arrived late because I was hiking till sunset and he waited outside on the street, and after check in I got a really delicious meal. The room has 3 comfy beds, enough plugs to charge and extra blankets. The bathroom is modern and has a shower (unlucky only with cold water). In the main building there are tables and chairs and a small bar. There is beer, wine, softdrinks, water.... Everything is clean and the WiFi works great. Breakfast is included, but I didn't use it as I was out hiking. From the house you have perfect views of Fogo. I can really recommend this place.

Katya is very welcoming, cooks very (very very) well and takes care of her client like no one did in Cap Verde. We have spent 2 weeks in Cabo Verde and haven’t met anyone that kind, welcoming and helpful. The place is also amazing. Out of nowhere, facing the sea, natural swimming pool… you name it! Katya also offers a few options to discover Fogo island like pico de fogo.

He organize pick up, cooking, tours around island. They brothers are very good gidės to climb to volcano. My big thanks to Felix. I would reccomend to stay there min. 2 nights.
