The other house staff are equally helpful and will happily run an errand to pick up supplies as the place is a tad isolated- even they don’t ask or expect don’t forget to tip. While in the area we did some Muck snorkelling with Ibu Feronika from Rumah Selam who operate near bye-it was awesome. Feronika can also help with highland and nature park tours, plus transport to and from Manado. Can highly recommend.

To top it off, the food at the restaurant was amazing. Both the local and international options were very delicious. Can't wait to come back!

The Indonesian food was delicious, fresh, and a real highlight after long days out in the forest. The wildlife guides were outstanding. They know the forest inside and out. We did full-day bird tours and were able to see so many of Tangkoko’s incredible endemic birds and mammals. The guides helped us capture great views of hornbills, dwarf kingfishers, tarsiers, bear cuscus and macaques, and many other species. The accommodation was clean, the beds very comfortable, and the air-conditioning was a welcome relief after a hot day of birding and exploring. If your goal is to experience the wildlife of Tangkoko—whether general wildlife tours or full-day birding trips—we highly recommend Birding Lodge Tangkoko and Ardy’s team of guides.
