Not to mention free drinking water to refill your bottles. It felt like coming home after a day of exploration to pure relaxation. It felt to nice to be well cared for, especially when traveling alone. Gihan can help arrange tours and activities and will take you himself in his Tuk Tuk when available. They have bikes for hire and I enjoyed riding all around Anuradhapura a couple of times. Their food is amazing! In the past they owned a restaurant and it shows. A huge variety and the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I am gluten intolerant and they were very accommodating to my diet. You can tell they care a lot about their business, investing in it and caring for their clients. Extend your stay, you won’t regret it. There’s much to see In Anuradhapura and you’ll not want to leave Corner Cottage.

Sameera was a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble for him. Breakfast and dinner were delicious especially when eaten al fresco. The tree-top accommodation was well appointed and charming. Going to sleep at night was blissful listening to the sounds of the forest. Chilling out here is so easy, but book early as there are currently only three lodges. Highly recommended.

It was the best decision to start my solo trip here as it already helped me meet people. The room is small but enough. It has a ventilator for the upper beds and another for the lower beds. The toilet and shower were very clean. The beds were comfy and pillows as well. They provide the bed sheeting. The kitchen!!! They have a small kitchen and it was gret for preparing breakfast and coffe and eating together with the rest of the people. They have hammocks and beds to chill everywhere, so the name fits very well ❤️‍🩹

The owner and the entire team were incredibly warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure my trip was unforgettable. They organized an amazing safari for me, making the experience completely hassle-free. The location is perfect, offering a serene and picturesque setting that feels like a true escape into nature. The Sri Lankan food served here was exceptional – fresh, flavorful, and authentic. This is an ideal place for anyone visiting Wilpattu National Park. Highly recommended for the location, hospitality, and overall experience!

Offering free bikes and garden view, Wilpattu Mookalan Resort is set in Habawewa, 39 km from Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 39 km from Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the guest house free of charge. The guest house features family rooms. Great location. Nicely tucked away from the road amongst the forest. Lots of birds including jungle fowl to watch from the patio. Walk in from the road via a pathway. They met us to help carry our bags. Dinner was traditional Sri Lankan curry - vegetarian or chicken. Followed by yoghurt and fruit for dessert. Plenty of food, not spicy and was yummy. Other options for dinner were fried rice or vegetable noodles. Breakfast was packed for us for the following day safari. 2 egg sandwiches, a banana, yoghurt and water. Sufficient for the half day. The best part is the very close lake and dirt road. We went for a walk with binoculars and saw deer, langurs, crocodile, hornbills and lots of other birds and lizards too. A much better, slower paced experience and one not to miss. We booked a half day tour with the host. In hindsight we would have booked a different tour. Pillows weren't overly comfortable but was OK for 1 night.

The people working are really helpful, really kind and provide you with anything you need. From their welcome until their tips for our departure, they were tireless and obliging. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Also, they can arrange any visit in the nearby monuments and cities with excellent service. Bonus for us: on the day of our departure monkeys were playing outside our room, which we enjoyed so much. Can’t recommend it enough!!!!!
