What an amazing place! Beautifully situated with great facilities, Vila Sofia was a perfect stay for a night, yet is well worth more! The hospitality from the owner and his team was/is unbelievable and made the experience even more memorable. Food is good and the rooms are clean and comfy. This is a definite oasis outside the touristy areas of Albania. The road is tricky, yet can be done with some clearance and slow driving so do not let it stop you. The best route is to approach it from the Tepelenë area and go through the village of Buz and follow the signs marked ‘Vila Sofia’. Most of the road is suitably tarred with the odd pothole and then closer to the Vila the road is gravel/dirt

The stay was fantastic. The host Arjan, the warm welcome, the breakfast, the convenient location (only 10-15 minutes walk to the heart of the city center) and a beautiful garden. In addition, the hotel and room was very clean. Our two motorcycles were on private property very safe, with camera surveillance behind a locked gate.
