Fabulous place, amazing staff and fantastic food

I found the bedroom clean and comfortable and I enjoyed the communal sitting room space. The staff were very helpful and friendly and I appreciated coffee and cake on arrival. A memorable stay!

The place was spotless and very comfortable. Both beds were firm and provided a great night’s sleep. The hosts thoughtfully left ingredients for breakfast - delicious bread, fresh eggs, butter, milk, plus oats, coffee, and tea. Communication was easy, clear, and straight to the point. The semi-remote location was wonderful, with small roads leading off in all directions for a walk. There’s no TV, but there is WiFi (unfortunately, he he) and a great selection of coffee table books and travel guides to enjoy.

The setting is stunning. During the day you stare out at the Loch watching boats and the occasional hint of sea life popping up. At night the lights of Lochinver terrible in the distance while deer and other wildlife wander around the trees (bring a torch if you want to see them). The trees either side keep you fairly private from the other properties around about and to feel like you're in your own little private cabin away from the world. On the porch you have a water jet hot tub facing the view, a log burning chiminea (with 2 easy light fire logs provided) and a Ninja Woodfire for cooking which works as a grill, air fryer, dehydrater and smoker. The porch is fully covered by the perspex roof means you can still look to the stars and get the sun during the day. We sat outside watching the fire burn, listening to sounds of nature around us for hours. So peaceful, and excellent at this time of year with the longer nights. With the fire burning and the hot tub running the porch remains pretty warm, but you'll probably want to grab some firewood as the log burns for a maximum of 1.5 hours and isn't hugely warm on its own. You can purchase more from the owners or the shops in Lochinver sell kindling and larger logs. I can't stress how lovely the setting is considering how close you are to other peripheries when you take a walk around. You'd honestly never know when you're in there. Inside the pod there's everything you need. An electric fire/heater, comfy big double bed, TV with netflix etc, wet room shower and bathroom, air fryer, kettle and various cutlery and cookware. Power outlets have usb ports for easy charging of your devices and there's a small table and stools if you want to eat inside. I won't lie, we spent minimal time inside. We slept, showered and got changed, but the setting just encourages you to sit outside.

Great spot near the absolutely stunning Achmelvich beach. Very well appointed, nice and warm for a chilly November night. All instructions for self check in very clear and helpful. Highly recommend, especially for a group to stay in the pods as has a communal bbq and fire pit area which would be ideal in summer.

Perfect location: 2 great beaches, hills to walk. Hostel: nice common area, well set up sleeping space: separated cabins for 2 people- so you can stay as a couple or as us: mother and son in a separate cabin area. Beds are comfy and duvet was heavy and comfy as well. You can meet sunset outside on the bench overlooking the sea.

Warm and cosy property with a lovely spacious kitchen. Pet friendly with a large enclosed garden and great dog walks nearby. Located next to some of the most beautiful scenery and beaches in the UK. Great communication from host and the welcome dram was such a lovely touch. I’d definitely book again!

Everything exceeded our expectations and was fantastic. The hosts were extremely friendly, the location and views were breathtaking, and the hut itself was exceptionally cozy, well-equipped, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed. The hot tub was a delightful and much-welcomed bonus, adding to the overall charm of the place, which ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.

I loved this property so much I didn’t want to leave. Has a real feel of home. Huge windows on all sides looking out onto the surrounding hillsides, where you can watch the birds, deer and lambs roaming about. Wonderful view out to sea from the dining room window. The house was beautifully clean and well kitted-out with everything you could need, plus some helpful little extras. It’s dog friendly too, with a fairly secure garden (although if there’s any chance of your pooch escaping, you must keep it on a lead, as there are sheep everywhere). There was an excellent wood burning stove with logs provided. The local area is spectacular and Recroy makes a perfect base for lovers of nature and the outdoors. You can walk from the door within minutes to secluded lochs where you won’t see a soul.
