Jane was very welcoming, a fantastic host and extremely accommodating to our extra request. The accommodation had everything needed and more. Well thought out accomodation. The cooked breakfast was exceptional. Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts but this beats them all. What a hospitality and super nice people. if we can recommend a bed and breakfast then this is the one to be. Nothing is too much and everything is possible. Forgot to bring my coat, and it will just be sent to you. this is the place you should go. Not to forget the breakfast is also excellent. This is not a 10 but a 10 plus.

The setting right on the water was beautiful. Old house with a lot of character. Very comfortable and nicely furnished. Friendly owner and easy communication.

With a location overlooking the Great Ouse River in Bedford’s town centre. Bedford Rail Station is only 1 mile from the hotel, providing 40-minute links to central London.

The best is the view through the river full of swans. All hotel is beautiful, on Christmas plenty of Christmas trees. Delicious food in restaurant!

The Embankment Hotel is in a beautiful location beside the River Ouse. Only a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, this riverside setting overlooks quiet gardens and a Victorian bridge.

We were in a comfortable and spacious room and the room was ready to enter before the scheduled check-in time, which was nice. It was only one night, ahead of a flight from Luton but it was a good choice. The riverside location is pleasant and, whilst we did not eat there other than breakfast it was clearly very popular locally for lunch and dinner. The breakfast itself was excellent, with notably good quality ingredients. We would very happily stay again if in the area.

Said to be haunted by the ghost of Mary Queen of Scots, this Elizabethan hotel has historic features and an on-site restaurant. The Talbot offers en suite bedrooms, WiFi access and free parking.

An unusual abode which is well on the way to becoming a hot trip for travellers who enjoy staying off the beaten path. The kitchen does a marvellous job and everybody who works there couldn’t be nicer!
