Highly recommend this beautiful place, so glad we found it. We stayed here almost a week and loved it. Really lovely family next door who made us feel at home. A lot of care has gone into the place to make it feel homely and has everything you could need. Easy walk to town. Definitely coming back again next time we’re in Totnes!

Beautiful and comfortable establishment, and I was grateful there was air conditioning in the room with how hot it was outside. Close to shops, Totnes Castle, and lovely trails on the riverside. Delicious food and relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant.

I was delighted with Toad Hall. it is situated in a peaceful and private location and the arrangement for check-in was straight forward. On arrival the cottage had been warmed by the log burner which felt homely, welcoming and gave off a pleasant smell. The art work in the main part of the building added to the cosy feel which made lovely viewing before bedtime, instead of counting sheep. The accommodation was super clean and very comfortable, with all the facilities necessary for a self-catering stay. The host was friendly and available by phone to address any issues. The information provided online was just as described and I would definitely stay there again.

It was a really great stay with lots of little details. In the morning you get a picnic basket with your breakfast in it and there is always plenty to eat (yoghurt, croissants, cheese, eggs etc.) We had a great attic room and felt at home. The hosts (including the daughter) are really great people and we felt very comfortable. Many thanks for everything and take good care of yourselves. PS: "the Seagull :-)"

    Tip: When you search by navigation app use the post code!!! There are two pubs with the same name! The staff were very welcoming and dog friendly! We had dinner and loved the food. It was nice and clean throughout, including the carpets in the restaurant and bar. Often in pubs you find that the carpets in the public areas are quite stained. Not here. Noticeably clean.

    This is a lovely location, very quiet and extremely pretty. The breakfast (which was included) was absolutely 5 star! Quality produce and great selection of dishes. It’s very very dog friendly which is lovely, as many places simply ‘tolerate’ dogs and have many rules. The staff are all very cheerful and friendly.

    Staff were really lovely across the board, from the guys at breakfast to the lovely lady cleaning the rooms. Really dog friendly which was great and a lovely location. The food was tasty and plenty of breakfast options for everybody. Very peaceful place to stay.

    Great location, friendly helpful staff, the most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept in, hot powerful shower with Elemis toiletries and a superb breakfast. When I first arrived I thought that the interior was a bit tired but don't be put off...a gem of a hotel that is amazing value for money in a great location for seeing the south Devon area. Really dog friendly which was an added bonus.

    Friendliness of everyone, the peace and quiet of the location. The food was excellent and they had my favourite cider on tap! The location is beautiful. They were wonderfully dog friendly, not just dog tolerant, which is massively important to us. How lovely would it be to have your wedding reception/family celebration on the terrace!!

    The property is in a great location, the bar area is very nice, a good selection of drinks and food is great. we stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely relaxing time. The best thing about this Hotel is the staff, they are all happy, friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and that for me is priceless. Would definitely recommend, and also super dog friendly!!!
