    Rooms are aged tired and stained carpets. Bed is uncomfortable, tired and again dirty. I personally got bites and given the expectations was very disappointed with the standard of the rooms.

    Breakfast was good (though I think one of our party didn't get the bacon he wanted), the room was fine (though the carpet needed de-staining and there was no heat on what was an unseasonably cool arrival day). The dinner menu was more typical of a food-led pub than an hotel, but the portions were generous and the food nicely cooked.

    The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, well designed and clean. The shower was AMAZING. I had room service after a long drive, but the food and wine were both good. A dog friendly surprise.
