You NEED to stay here. It's even worth a detour, you'll never forget this experience. Despite the language barrier (which wasn't a problem at all with Google translate) the host went out of his way to chat and give us info about the history of the area. The host generously gifted us: - home made zucchini from the grill (prepped before we arrived) - home grown pears, plums & figs - honey from their beehives - home grown cherry tomatoes (so sweet they tasted like candy) - cucumber for our salad - cold beer in the fridge Be sure to make use of the outdoor grill and cook your dinner over the coals. Let them know ahead of time if you're planning to use it, they set it up for us and even had it ready to cook on after we came back from our walk. Aside from the incredible host, amazing views and peaceful location, here are some of the features we loved: - spacious accommodation - seperate living room with two couches - off street parking - full sized fridge - options for both outdoor and indoor dining - huge comfy bed - clean and modern bathroom Could not recommend this place more!! We will make the effort to stay again if we're in the area.

We found Mare's place by accident and book only a single night. We needed a place to stay to break long journey home from our vacation. Location of this property is just a short drive above Vrlika town and surrounded by meadows and mountains. We had a wonderful stay and excellent breakfast. Hopefully we will return some day in the near future.

The home cooked meals were delicious local dishes, all cooked with local ingredients. The room was lovely, and the balcony is a nice bonus. The staff (Ante and Tina) were exceptional, very hospitable, welcoming, and made excellent company. The location was fantastic. A little sleepy town, with not much happening - it was the perfect destination for a relaxed holiday. There was plenty to do in the area, and the lake is just a short 5 minute walk away and was great for swimming.
