Closeness to nature, which is still unspoiled. Lots of birds, fishes and ofcourse the marine life that is easy accessible from PapuArts Alter Native Stay. Family feeling; easily to feel at home with this lovely family of four (Helga, Timon and their 2 beautiful young daughters who love to make friends). Oh, and I forgot their two sweet dogs Ringo & Dingo 🐾🐾 Owners are very helpful and speak several languages so easy to communicate with them. Internet is sometimes a bit unstable so take that into account when expecting speedy replies (sometimes it just doesn’t work and patience is a good thing to have). The food - home style cooking (breakfast, lunch and dinner are all cooked by the owner and her team and she is a great cook; we loved every meal which was perfectly catered to our vegetarian / pescatarian wishes) The rooms are close to nature as well, with very comfy beds (we stayed in both the smaller and the biggest family room, which easily fits 3 respectively 4 people; the 3rd bed in the smaller room has a wonderful treehouse feeling and there is a bunkbed in the biggest room). Hard to capture the beauty of the rooms in just one picture (I took several but could only post one here with my review). You can hear the sea and birds from your bedroom. It’s right next to you. No frills, just natural materials, which we loved. Also no warm water, but easily to get used to. There’s a shower and mandi style shower. Also your own toilet. Plus the blue blue sea right at your doorstep and a lovely sitting area with a hammock to complete the zen-feeling. There’s a long jetty into the sea with a perfect spot for exercise/meditation/yoga at the end. Fitness with a view! It’s quiet and feels very private. You instantly feel relaxed here. Different excursions to choose from, both on land and on/under the sea. Please note: these come at an extra cost and Raja Ampat area is not cheap!!!! A great dive centre with a good dive master (Jerry) which made our dives enjoyable. Food was always aplenty and the amenities were the best we had stayed at, with our own shower, toilet, fresh and hot water. The reception was helpful in answering any questions we had and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The homestay is idyllic and secluded. We were right on the water, the porch is nicely decorated, there's a table and chairs so in the evenings we could easily play cards. In the day, if we weren't diving with Corepen (they come and collect you and drop you off), we would snorkel on the coral reef in front of the homestay which is fantastic! We saw a turtle, ray, squid, clown fish, a shark etc. All three meals are included and Lina's cooking is amazing. We would eat fresh fish everyday. Portion size is very generous so you won't be going hungry. Lina and Arnes are so kind and gentle hosts we couldn't recommend this more. Their English is very limited so just make sure you download a translator app if you don't have data (there's no WiFi). The amenities are basic and you get electricity from around 6:30pm-10:30pm but for us, this only added to its charm. When we passed other homestays, we were always grateful for picking Efenli.

Amazing place and amazing people :)

We loved staying at Famangkor. We enjoyed the family feel of our hosts all pitching in to look after the guests. Friwen wall and the home reef were handy and great snorkelling spots. Very good price. Food was good. We enjoyed the short walk to through the trees to the village. Loved the tiled bathroom. Could easily have done a couple more snorkelling trips from here but we only stayed one night to be closer to Waisai.

The rooms are big, but very outdated. Showering is rather difficult because there is no showerhead and bucket bathing is not easy either because there is nothing to scoop the water from. It's okay for one night, but if you are looking for sth a bit more comfortable after having spent some time in bungalows, I wouldn't recommend this place. The staff is really friendly and helpful though!

This is by far the best accomodation we've been in the area. Resort style facilities without the high resort price tag or crowd. It's more expensive than a homestay but the price difference is definitely worth it if you want comfort or a beautiful accomodation. We stayed in the overwater villa and it was great, very clean, wifi, electricity, felt just like being in a 4 star hotel. Staff is very friendly, excursions great and they are very helpful with anything that you need. Reef is amazing (lots of fish, turtles, moray and occasional black tips and white tips), overall a 10 out of 10 experience.

It's truly paradise. Good accommodation, good food and very nice staff.

This homestay on Besir island is ideally located near several interests spots in Raja Ampat. The place is calm, only two cabins on the water, connected to a village full of charm. The utilities are on the beach, near the owner's house. It's very clean and has everything required to answer basic needs. Regarding the rooms, mosquito net on the bed, fan, electricity at night, blankets, hammock, sunbed and basic furnitures. All the meals (included in the reservation) are served to your cabin, they vary and are prepared by an great cook! So everything is tasteful and good. No connection except if you get a SIM card on arrival at Sorong's airport but deconnection is great. It's easy to communicate with the owner who speaks well English (rare in Raja Ampat) and he tries his best for you to have the best stay possible. Him and his family are super nice and welcoming while respecting your privacy. I came with a friend and we stayed 3 full days, we had an amazing time there and we can only recommend this place. All the activities we've done through them were memorable, we had a lot of fun. Have a good holiday there!
