I enjoyed cooking and sharing food with my roommates, and just chilling out in the common area. Watching animals coming and going in the garden was fun - mongoose, monkey, parrot, Bengali monitor, woodpecker, kingfisher, hornbill, etc. Two minutes walk to the lake for sunrise/sunset. Truly a gem in Anuradhapura!

I booked a room at Gabaa Resort, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience despite the unexpected situation. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help me find a reliable garage and get my car fixed promptly. The room was clean and comfortable, providing much-needed relaxation. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, exceeding my expectations. Though my stay was brief, the exceptional service and hospitality left a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Kalhara was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond—organizing a cultural evening, a great safari trip, and arranging tuk-tuks at fair prices. He helped with everything before, during, and after our stay. The guesthouse was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by nature. The breakfast was also very good! Highly recommended!

The owner is very nice and gave me a lot of support in planning the journey to and from the hotel. He also planned the safari for me. This was a great experience as the guide had a lot of knowledge. Another highlight was the dinner. The room was perfectly fine for the two nights. The room was very clean. I can highly recommend this accommodation.

The room is very comfortable, has AC and everything is very clean. Upali was very kind and attentive, he picked me up at the train station and also took me on several excursions. The breakfast is excellent, Upali's wife is an excellent cook and you are treated in the best way. I highly recommend it!

There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service. It was our best accommodation in 4 weeks in Sri Lanka! We stayed in a separated little cottage, was very clean, comfortable bed and pillows, it's situated upon the little rock,so you feel the air, and it was not humid, nice garden and absolutely delicious breakfast ( you can order what you wish) and evening meals at a cosy terrace!! And of course wonderful friendly personal, very helpful and sweet! Also important for travellers- free of charge water bottles and !! making your laundry!! Super recommended!!! PS : you can rent the bikes to go to the temples and around the lakes,with we did and liked it so much!

Habarana Tree house Mutu village features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Habarana. This 3-star resort has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. We upgraded to the A-frame tree house with a private pool a few days before arrival, and it was the best decision. The pool was the perfect size to cool off for our family of five. We loved our stay here. While this hotel might be a bit further from Sigiriya, they organised a driver in a safari jeep to take us where we needed to go. We also went on a game drive to a nearby national park, which was amazing; we saw so many elephants. You can walk into some local shops as well. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both were really good—best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka.
